So they turn what is an otherwise okay game into the blunder of the century. And then the game has its defenders coming in and trying to defend it by saying how great it really is and this just starts shit all over agin. The hypers and defenders don't really have a leg to stand on, because they're obviously way over stating the good points and thus attracting detractors. But the detractors are also obviously over stating the bad points in their rage at the defenders, thus attracting defenders.

It's about more than just perfection, though /v/ is probably one of the worst places to try and discuss those things, you're right. Other boards at least generally have one or two series the board as a whole agrees upon the quality of, but /v/ really doesn't.
In general, and especially with Uncharted, it gets too wrapped into console warring too. If Uncharted were multiplat, there'd probably be a lot less of this specific type of shit flinging. It'd be more like Bioshock Infinite than this, probably.
People get mad at this because it ends up as part of the never ending oneupsmanship and denegration of console warring. It's like a proxy war, where the success or failure of the game is considered less in its own circumstances and instead as part of the larger whole of how good or bad the console and company is doing.

If the multiplayer so happens to be great somehow I might buy, but I doubt it. These games are GREAT imo as one time experiences.

He's standing on the deck of the ship monallogging about to shoot Drake. Nate notices his foot is in a loop of rope attached to the giant gold statue, so he pushes the statue off the edge of the boat and the rope pulls tight and drags Navaro off with it.
It's pretty brutal if you think about it (drowning is not a nice or quick way to go) but what you see is straight out of a cartoon.
2's Badguy got beaten to death by mutants. In a "I'm not going to kill you.......but they will *turns around and walks towards camera*" moment.
3's Villians drowned in quicksand amx got shot and fell off a cliff into a sinkhole, despite being hinted at having supernatural powers all game (he seemingly teleports and survives a gunshot without a scratch earlier) they amount to nothing.
4's gets crushed by a statue or whatever.

While there are action set pieces (you can fail them) and there are QTEs, the shootouts are great because they can always be completed in many different ways. either sneak by, rambo, or assassin. or most likely a combination of each. and that always was seamless.

this, the game looks more movie like when you are just watching it because then you don't necessarily realize that you still have full control of your movement and have to time your jumps and stuff. also the enemy AI in shootouts is cool because they will flank you and use grenades properly forcing you to use your mobility and move from cover to cover. the multiplayer is fucking great as well.

We insult uncharted 4. We insult it for being a movie. But then we're shown clearly it has some pretty "solid" gameplay for a third person shooter (games like spec ops the line gets praised al the time, that's just a TPS as well)
Then we cut on the graphics. I thought video games are never about graphics, what'sthe problem? U4 undoubtedly looks next gen, maybe not for pc, but by the end of the day it's a PS4 exclusive. Once we get through that we talk about it being linear. Naughty dog said there is now several ways to deal with a situation, sneak, run, fight, scan the area plan your attack, whatever. Must every video game be open world? For what purpose? For you to get bored searching the seas for 10 more gold coins, or maybe that fetch quest item?

I want a game that has content that isn't focused around five seconds of explosions in a bell tower, or a boring crumbling bridge I'll never see again after five seconds. Every single video posted in this thread so far plays out more like a movie rather than a game. Not even shit posting.
