Do you guys think it'll actually end with RE7? Or is this going to be like before where Capcom just says it's the end and then we get another sequel 4-5 years after?

It wasn't meant to imply anything in the PS1 games. Wesker's body only goes missing as a point of cutscene in REmake, which is after the whole Zombie KungFu Jesus Twist was established. In any PS1 version continues to have Wesker always bleed out onscreen and leaves a corpse.
Re-entering the Tyrant Lab both his and the tyrant corpse are gone. This being well before the Tyrant left any plausible escape holes.

I'd argue the game would have been better if the missions were in relatively chronological order, Edonia had a proper introduction, Tall Oaks had a proper introduction, and the game itself had a proper introduction. I mean the introduction chapter is terrible at actually introducing the game, Edonia opens with Sherry Birkin out of nowhere or a BSAA field briefing for Chris(the only one that's even close to acceptable), and Leon finds that everyone has turned in to a zombie when he went to take a shit.

I just think they shouldn't simply give RE2 better graphics, they should take the opportunity to sort of go back and do everything they wanted to do but couldn't at the time and also to give us some stuff we haven't seen before. With the need to tie RE2 & 3 together better and the well of discarded ideas from 1.5 not to mention some of the retcons of Darkside Chronicles and Operation Raccoon City, there's a lot of potential if they choose not to go the easy route. Redo the look of the police station we've already seen hundreds of times. Add new characters or develop old ones. Add more things to explore. Maybe even create a whole different turn of events than before (Jill meets Leon? Claire Meets Elsa Walker?).
