Any SL passed 30 is a Ganksquad in my experience. I tried to do it for a while at 100 and it was constantly 4 man gank squads. It's always 2v4, and the moment you get down one of theirs, it turns into 3v3 because someone else ends up invading until it ends up like 4v1 on the host. It's pretty fun if you can hold your own 1v4 because often times the other guy is shit and dies immediately.

its in the big room full of enemies near the end that has the Cell Key in it, the side path near the roof that goes around the outside edge behind the destructible barrels and boxes. at the end of the path you can drop down to another path under it, its in a chest there thats hard to see because its in the dark and blends in with the wooden boxes.

Butcher Knife was broken as fuck. Before a nerf, it had S scaling in 3 stats. After the nerf it still had S in 2, and A in 1. It's moveset used the great hammer, which had hyperarmor, but the actual damage was slash which was far far better than blunt. You could also buff the goddamn thing. It was literally an instant win button.

I fucking love these. I got these and am doing a full Dancer of the Boreal Valley cospaly which has been great to destroy low levels with. Even now when I'm doing PVP, the swords are great since I can hit L1 and get a good sweeping motion to catch rollers and when you want to put them into panic mode, hitting L2 and then mashing R2 will stunlock them good.

If you're playing Deprived and want to have an optimal build with no wasted points, you're pretty much forced to create a jack of all trades melee caster.
VGR, VIT and END almost never go to waste no matter your build, but if you're not both casting stuff (preferably fire or dark element) and meleeing you risk wasting those starting points in STR, DEX, INT, FAI and ATN.
If you're talking about the start you play it like any other melee class, then just pick which armor you happen to find. After finding armor and your weapon of choice playing Deprived is like playing any other class.

Bleed build with a hollow Corvian scythe works pretty good, the moveset isn't that terrible.
if you get the spacing right you'll connect with the sweet spot for MASSIVE damage, while out ranging most weapons.
gotta mix it up a lot, charged R2s,
switch between 1H/2Hing frequently, scythes have a really wide range of motions in this game, the one handed roll attack comes out really fast and is great for catching people at the end of a roll.

I found flamberge and carthus gs to be too slow for a hollow bleed build.
I mean, it works, and you'll still do massive damage, but you will always do a lot more with faster bleed weapons like katanas, barbed ss, and my favourite, carthus curved sword.

120 is basically the point where every build archetype hits softcaps in all of their most important stats. People will probably end up gravitating to it because they don't want to make tradeoffs even though you can make a complete build by SL100.
Magic is really fucky at the moment because it is actually extremely strong numerically, to the point of being overpowered, at SL100 if you wear all of the shit you need to wear (which is a problem of its own, but regardless) but just has abysmal tracking and cast time and can't be free aimed like pyromancies can. Meanwhile at SL80 it's worthless with all of these problems and you'll probably be gimping yourself one way or the other.

I don't pvp. I'm talking about pve. Since poise doesn't fucking exist, I can't poise through attacks to get that damage. What's even more embarrassing is that at 40 str, my +9 broadsword did around 210-ish damage whereas my +4 yhorm great machete did like 360-ish damage while consuming 5 times more stamina or something along the lines of that. The trade off is not worth it at all.

Adding a poise system scaled down a bit from the insanity of DaS and mixing it in with the current hyperarmor system would mean rats and daggers couldn't stunlock you to death in heavy armor while heavy weapons would be usable without having to spam attacks for hyperarmor. The 2hit principle favors daggers, shortswords, and rapiers as long as fast weapons have comparable AR to heavy weapons while having monumentally faster attack animations and comparable range, which is exactly the situation the game is in right now. From started Dark Souls 3 by speeding up animations, then started the weapon overhaul with Swords.
So basically every weapon that don't get a new animation is sorta shit.
Also weapon scaling is harmonized, so there isn't that many weapons with tons of more attack rating. Most weapons default to like 300-400 on +10, depending on stats, if they are a single attribute.
