You need to stay relatively close, because her basic attack is slow as fuck. Prediction with the pillars is key, set them behind retreating enemies so they don't see it until it's too late. And use nullify a lot, as more than just your oh shit button, giving it the push effect makes it great for getting behind enemies and pushing them into allies. Or blinding people and having them walk right into the fire trail as they try to chase you.

Every team I'm on I usually go 12-5 on average, but everyone else is 2-15 and, there is always one guy, who goes 0-14. Do I just have bad luck or something? I can't get put on teams with capable people at all and I lose every match. I can't even have fun with how bad these people are. I even went 5-16 one match because the enemy team caught on and would gang up on me really quickly, then push all the retards back who couldn't even hit the enemy. This bugs me too. Usually I'd say, who gives a fuck about the writing, it's a glorified team deathmatch game, shut the fuck up, etc. But we've got plenty of team deathmatch games around. Does this one really have a different take on mechanics or gameplay dynamics? Enough to really set it apart? Probably not.
Visual aesthetics are definitely part of what we play games for, it really does add something. Great gameplay can overpower poor aesthetics and usually does, but great gameplay *and* great aesthetics really make something shine. And when they're competing with the likes of Overwatch and TF2 and such... well, they've got to nail it, or it's just substandard to what's already out there.

Commando can tank lots, but can't deal nearly as much as krieg or gunzerker can.
Krieg is my favorite, he's suicidal but ridiculously strong with the right perks and gear. Hellborn can deal unbelievable damage, which other classes can only JUST match with the Bee equiped

I got the game at launch and am enjoying it. It's not the best game ever but it's a fun little distraction. Co-op missions are fun and PvP is decent. Will tide me over for a few months.
I got it on PS4 so I don't think I need to worry about it dying after a week because everybody else went back to sucking Valves dick playing Dota 2, CS:GO, and TF2. You all mention Evolve but there's still a decent number of players still playing on console.
