PROTIP: if you see someone use a thrusting sword or dark sword, just walk into their range, let them hit you twice and spam the parry button. You'll get a guaranteed parry on the third hit if they spam.
Works for pretty much any weapon, but only dark sword users are dumb enough to go for the third swing without fail. Rapier guys only go for a third swing in 99.9995% of all cases.

SL ~100 is perfect. Quality builds have to sacrifice health, endurance and vit for their damage and aren't strictly better than sharp/heavy. Full glass cannon casters work, similarly to glass cannon quality/hollow builds. Around 100 is ideal because then you'll have heavy/sharp builds with really good supporting stats, heavy/sharp builds with strong magic support instead of supporting stats, and quality builds and casters still cutting some corners as they should. Higher than that and you're entering the territory of mundane havelyn hexers, or gank builds from 1 where people softcapped all their melee stats and still ran darkmoon blade.

Ultra weapons actually use stamina, unlike straight swords, rapiers and rolling.
With 40 you get 3 swings and a single roll. You'll not often use 3 consecutive swings but if you're playing against some Gotthard Twinfags hyper aggressive player you rarely have time to let your stamina refill to full so the extra helps a shit ton.
Plus a lot of times people will roll through 2 swings, then go to attack you thinking you only have 2 and a roll so you won't risk going for a third and then you catch them, it can be pretty good for baiting if you don't mind trading.

been farming Proof of concord kept items for 3 hours now. Farming them off of the Silver Knights in Anor Londo. I am pushing SL175 now just shoveling points into Luck on top of all my other stats. Figure I'll hit SL200-225 before going to NG+. This being my 100% achievement guy, I'll have to go to NG+3 for all the rings achievement. So the high SL will help. Gotta make sure to reallocate points before going to NG+ though. 50 Luck is worthless for my build.

I have to farm the silver knights over and over and over for 30 off of of concord kept items so I can max out devotion to the darkroom covenant for the ring and miracle. I put on the silver serpent ring and the shield of want. Both increase souls gathered. The 3 knights I farm take less than 3 minutes to kill at the rate of around 35k souls per farming run. Do this for a few hours and you're taking in close to a million real easy.
I don't WANT to go this high, but I need points in luck for the better drop rate chance. I got all achieves in Das1 and Das2. Ill be damned if I don't get them in 3 as well. This and the Armored core series are the only games I do this in. I don't know why.
Once I have all achievements, I'll start a new character. Cap him off at 80-90.

I actually didn't get the Storm Ruler because I didn't know, and I had missed Siegward's cell until after I beat Yhorm, so I fought him like that.
It's a fun fight. Really fucking long and grueling, but cool. Especially since I used a shorter weapon that couldn't reach his head. You can stagger him into the critical position by hitting his arms.
