Did it 4 times today, felt really good.
She's not useless, but I find it literally retarded that her teleporter can be destroyed AND has limited uses. Pick one or the other. Her sentries are fun since you can put them anywhere and they can do a fuckton of damage, but they are destroyed instantly. Her primary does a retarded amount of damage, but you need to be in melee range which kinda kills it for me. I play her on Route 66 on D, but so far that's the only map I feel comfortable using her.

Scrap is only for your E, which drops armor packs. The turret only goes to level 2 unless you are ulting. You upgrade the turret for free, you don't need scrap to do it.

Yea they changed it when they turned the closed beta back on. Turret doesn't cost scrap to build or to upgrade, scrap is only used for E packs, gun does more damage but shoots slower, and ultimate upgrades your turret to level 3 only for the duration plus it gives you loads more health and damage and fire rate.

You will never do any damage with Winston, your job is to throw down barriers and your ult is just to make enemies think you're dangerous (and disrupt them a bit with knockbacks).

I'm new to the game so take it with a grain of salt but I thought Winston was shit until I actually played him a lot last night.
being a tank, he can't really dish out damage, but has a ton of HP, allies can also shoot out from inside his barrier thing, making it pretty fuckin awesome while you're trying to cap (or if you all huddle on the payload and drop one there) his jump is spammable and has HUGE mobility, so getting into hard to reach places or just getting out of trouble to fight again later is very possible.

Yes, except that 95% of the people who play her are absolutely shitters that can't land a shot. Theorically, genji, tracer and other fast movement heroes kill her pretty easily but the charge timer on her sniper is just too fast.
You can get a kill each 2 seconds if you don't miss the shots and you can always finish a 200hp class with a uncharged shot after a charged shot.

extremely fun with friends the first hours. But past that the game gets really stale and dull. The game lacks depth and the lack of gamemodes makes the game less enjoyable when you replay the same maps over and over again. And most maps aren't even that interesting either.
The matches feels meaningless when they are so short, kinda reminds me the difference in the satisfaction when you win a game of dota 2 to a game like HoTs.
This is all subjective opinion though. But I don't understand the hardon that /v/ has for this game. It's good, but it's praised to an extreme amount for some reason. Don't have a recording unfortunately, but god damn I just bodied some as Roadhog a little bit ago. So useless, one of the last balance patches included cutting her E in half(hence 25 shield instead of the 50 alpha/beta testers had grown accustomed to) with a developer note stating they were uncomfortable with her unusually high win rate compared to other heroes.
Her teleporter used to charge while it was up, so you could slap one down right after it got used up or an enemy player destroyed it. It also used to charge faster than it does now.
Her M1 used to do more damage too(it still does a lot, but you can't wipe a full team by just holding it down and running at them anymore).
She still has a high win rate.
She hard counters Reinhardt, Genji, Tracer, and other relatively low health or slow moving enemies she can lock onto with her M1(which functions like a void ray from Starcraft. It does more damage the longer you have it locked on).
Symmetra is an acquired taste. Once you understand where to place sentries and know how to funnel energy balls own corridors and bumrush payloads or control points to clean up with M1, she feels a lot less useless.

It depends on how you're using her tanking wise. She can be hard to kill and body a lot of shots. Her shield can also protect her squishier teammates while simultaneously feeding her power.
She's more of a finesse tank than the meatier Reinhardt, Winston, or Road Hog, but she's not a flanker and harrasser like D.Va. I also think she's wonderful as a complimentary tank to a Winston or Reinhardt. Either way, it's all in how the match is looking. I just noticed she was becoming a lot more popular towards the end of closed beta because of the wombo factor with her ultimate.

My friends and I talked about and realized part of why there is no score board is it would be hard to offer useful information. Kills/deaths are in reality, not that good a metric of whose doing well in an objective based game with lots of roles based on healing or absorbing damage.
So what do you put on he score board? Well things like damage dealt, health healed, damage blocked by shield, ect. would be really helpful things. In fact, in HotS the scoreboard is just like that and it's more informative than any scoreboard I've ever seen in a game. So why wouldn't Blizzard just reuse it? Hero switching, it can't happen in HotS but in Overwatch? If I switch from a damage dealer to a healer my damage healed would be very low for my character, but that's because I just started playing them in the middle of the mach. If my mate doesn't realize that and checks the scoreboard and goes "Oh no wonder were losing our healer isn't healing" except I am, the issue is I just started doing it. So now he witches to healer and we have to many.
That's just one example of how a scoreboard in this game could easily lead to people misinterpreting information as a result of hero switching.

I just played a game with D.Va where I had a 20? kill streak. The trick is to just fucking bail with Shift (boosters) whenever things are looking bad. Your mech gun is weak, yeah but it also doesn't need to reload which means you can really put the pressure on squishies. So yeah, hold left click, raise the shield when you need to and boost the hell out of there if you have to and heal up before coming back.
D.Va is 100% about the hit and run. A character like Reinhardt just can't catch her.

Flank with her. Use charge to confuse enemies and push them away from points and such. Even if you lose the mech you can still get it back pretty quickly. She's quick and does pretty good damage if you aim properly. Just shoot some guys and you'll have it back in less than 10 seconds.

Somehow Blizzard though this was a good idea.

It's greatest merit are the characters and by looking at how only a few female characters are popular among r34 creators we can quickly see the value of such merit.
Maps might as well have all the same tileset, as they rarely deviate in general level design from one another, something that Valve immediately realized with TF2, but sill managed to create greater variety.
Balance will be eternally fucked as high skill floor characters do the same things if not less than braindead characters, and also, >Blizzard balancing.
Skill ceiling is not that high, if you can aim you'll dominate, if you can't you can still dominate, all in all a very casual friendly shooter that Blizzard will pretend that its worthy to be played at a high level.

Actually, I hate Mei, but after getting so mad at her shit I just ended up playing her one day. She's just so broken it's hard NOT to pick her when it literally allows you to just win almost every game unless the enemy counters you.
I used to play McCree but the newest nerf to him makes him kind of an inferior Mei in my opinion. He's still probably okay but you have to put in more effort to kill people and it's not that fun for me anymore.

D.Va is pretty top tier in my opinion.
Every time I use her I get like 15-20 eliminations.
As everyone else said, hit and run with her. Her mech guns tear shit up at close range. The infinite firing is such an advantage.
Also when you get good enough, you can start juggling in and out of her mech. She's so fast and does so much damage out of the mech that you can normally get a new mech in 5-10 seconds. People will be dumb enough to try to chase you and you'll spawn a new mech and be waiting to tear them a new asshole.
