I'm a monk main and I picked up machinist recently. Holy fuck I have no idea what I'm doing basically, even at level 40.
It's probably just because I've played monk for so long, but with monk there's a rhythm to your combat. The moves flow into each other and it's easy to remember what you have to press and when.
Machinist is a clusterfuck of RNG procs and cooldowns that you have to be constantly aware of. I guess it's the tradeoff for basically never having to move during combat, but damn I ain't used to this shit. I had to set up a macro that plays a sound when I need to refresh hot shot because I would otherwise just constantly forget.

Honestly, not expecting the next expansion to really revive the raid "scene" unless cross server raid finder takes off. And even then, it seems like PF is spotty for raids at best. Guessing it will mostly just magnify the bad PFs of every server. Maybe it will work out though.
If that doesn't work then I can't see the expansion really fixing the mass exodus to gilgamesh, balmung, and a few other servers. Game is due for some mergers.

Machinist was super fun, but it has the absolute worst move in the game, which is Hot Shot.
Holy shit. Who thought that move was a good idea. 5% buff on a 30 second cooldown. Boy am I just so excited to use that ability.
Is Dismantle/Rend Mind still 5% too? I just couldn't wrap my head around that. The game is entirely full of lackluster cooldowns, and they somehow crammed the gold medal in shitty abilities into one new class three times. Disable (AST) was pretty bad too, but I know that one at least got a little buff, right?

The lower their levels are the better they are to hug.
The new adventurer sprout icon stays on for ages now. The other day I saw an AST with one.

Is Toto-Rak weighted to appear on leveling roulette more heavily or something? I swear I get it all the fucking time, like at least 2-3 days a week for the past month.
