I've played both versions of VLR, and didn't have a choice with 999. I was simply stating my opinion.

I played 999 like a year after it released and VLR like two years after because I didn't have either a psv or a 3ds and thus I avoided spoilers.
Now I have a 3ds, a PC and a vita, how the fuck am I gonna do this, someone will probably leak spoilers a week before or something.

This leaves us with three possible cases:
1) Teenager Phi is a bodyslipped future version of her current self
2) Dianna and the father either, bodyslipped into the future, or they were cryogenically frozen until the events at the mars test site
3) A combination of the first two cases is also possible.
Case 3 goes into too much bullshit, I don't think it's the correct assumption. Case 1 with teenager Phi is possible, but there's a few problems, mainly, the fact that we don't know of any other big event between 2029 and 2074 that would cause a teenager Phi to develop her esper powers to the point where she's able to bodyslip. That also means there's little reason for her to do so.
I think case 2 is the most interesting since it ties into the "one of the teams plays the decision game in the past/future" theory. What if D team is not actually playing the game in 2029? Akane is a scheming bitch, it'd be easy for her to bullshit sigma into believing he jumped into his 2029 self, but maybe he actually got cryogenically frozen this time and it's about 16 years into the future? Of course, older-older sigma would have to fug Dianna before this, but that can easily be explained with consciousness time traveling quantum leap shenanigans.

The only obvious answer to this is that Sigma is Phi's father.

Santa was brainwashed by his aunt, Dianna (phi's twin sister), into believing he was Akane's sister so he'd help her make the first nonary game, which develops into the events of VLR and ZTD, allowing Santa(Brother) to save Sigma(Left), who then goes impregnates his own mother, who gives birth to him 22 years into the past.
