Well think about it, practically every time you jump somewhere new, youre uncovering what was instead of what is. Micolash was long dead, but he survives in a twisted past version in the nightmare. The old hunter DLC is uncovering the sins of the church, the gateway to the fishing hamlet is via the clocktower, and time itself is meaningless in the hunters dream. Hell you could even argue the weapon Rayuko represents the hands of a clock

Magic in this game is more a novelty really. It takes a while to get good item and they arent worth it in the long run in most cases. Frankly I like a good skill build but strength is nice too. See what feels better for your playstyle and depending on the weapon, pump some points in either bloodtinge or arcane to further boost damage

When do you parry? I do not get the timing. In DS it is pretty self-evident, since you have to connect shield with weapon. But BB has a pistol. So when are you supposed to shoot?

Build's aren't as important as, say, DS. Find a weapon you like the moveset of, and use that for a while. If you want to be awesome, go Skill/Bloodtinge
You've just gotta adapt to the quicker pace, no better way to learn than just to jump in and go for the throat.
You don't really use 'magic' as such, it's more an item-use thing.

Bloodborne has by far the mostand bestNPC interactions, storylines and branching paths. You'll need to replay it quite a to see everyone's "good" endings without a guide.
So yes you'll hate that aspect and probably miss 80% of NPCs the first time around. Adding salt to the injury, there isn't an obvious safe hub to send them to, you might just send them to the wrong one and they end up dead. Or they just end up dead mid-way thanks to your actions. Or they end up killing eachother.
On the other hand you'll feel the most rewarded to see all the quests through compared to other Souls games.

Get it. You can access it one third of the way through the game, or perhaps a bit earlier, and it has a shit ton of weapons in the very first area.

Do NOT start your NG+ and go straight to the DLC, it'll be way too hard. Either complete it before ending your first playthrough, or go to NG+, level some more in chalice dungeons and then go back to DLC at level 100+ to be confortable. SL80 is doable though

So I'm playing BB for the first time and I have some issues with a few things:
1. Locking on to the enemy you want when dealing with a large crowd of enemies can be bothersome. Also don't like how the game doesn't have automatic targeting after you defeated an enemy, as in, when you defeat an enemy, the next closest enemy gets targeted.
2. Farming for blood vials is dumb as fuck. I get that the game changes it up to where surplus blood vials are saved, but that doesn't get rid of needless farming.
Also this isn't so much an issue with the game, as it is my own ability, but I'm awful at dealing with overly aggressive enemies. The final phase of the blood-starved beast is near-impossible for me. I think I'm just too afraid of getting poisoned, but the thing has like twenty claw attacks in a row.

A large part of the difficulty in that fight can also just boil down to how much health you have. If you eat some swings or a grab you'll be left without enough health to really deal with the poison well. Since poison damage is static, it's the most dangerous it will ever be at that point the game too.

No matter what you do, the vast majority of its swings will be physical damage. The only thing that is pure arcane is the L2 explosion thrust, and the beams that shoot out of charged attacks. If you ditch str/dex in order to push arcane to 70 like a real arcane build does, then you're basically stuck only using those moves. Likewise you have to wonder why you're bothering with the light beams when you can just cast hunter tools to deal damage.
Most arcane builds just end up converting a basic weapon to an element, since all the weapon's damage gets changed that way. The reality is that the Holy Moonlight Sword functions much better as a quality weapon that happens to have some weird tricks and is basically permanently enchanted with the arcane shell in its trick form, than it does as an actual arcane weapon.

Yeah it's not great, just start buying them after you level up. Or a quick run through yharnam can get you 20 in a jiffy. This also gives you time to reflect on what you fucked up, if you just smash your face against a boss it's easy to stop learning.
It seems like 20 attacks but it's a series of fairly managable and punishable combos, try to memorize his patterns and break them down. Get used to counting swings etc.

The worst boss before Yharnam was Pthumerian Descendent, in my opinion. I eventually managed to thoroughly whip Defiled Hotdog and Amyggydiggy, but I only beat Descendent by the skin of my teeth.

Yep, I'd honestly recommend backing up your save before initiating the encounter unless you've done it multiple times and you're comfortable with it. If you die in the fight, Henryk will most likely have killed Eileen by the time you get back to Oedon's Tomb.

Depends what weapon you're using or want to use. If it benefits from skill, put some skill in there. Otherwise keep boosting STR.
Boost bloodtinge if you want to do damage with guns like the repeating pistol. Boost arcane if you like the look of some of the arcane tools or the arcane weapons, like the flamethrower. Really just personal choice. I hate guns but like the flamethrower and the squid arm so I boosted arcane a bit.

I can't believe how bad Dark Souls 3 is compared to how much fucking praise its getting from people who didn't play BB.
Dark 3 has no fucking detail in the environments, in BB every prop added to the atmosphere of the game, DS3 just has these huge fucking empty halls.
And the lighting, what the fuck did they do to the lighting? It looks so unnaturally lit compared to BB, despite being on the same engine. The "dungeon" areas are nowhere near as dark as they should be.
Speaking of the dungeon areas, about one third of DS3 is slightly more refined chalice dungeons, the other third is BB area rejects and the last third is actual decent new content that fits into the DS3 universe.
The enemies in DS3 mostly feel like they were designed to accommodate for the BB combat system too, they just feel cheap being thrown into the slower paced DS combat.
At least the bosses are mostly awesome, but everything else is so unintteresting...the linearity and lack of variety in the areas (wow grey forests and cathedrals) means I doubt I'll replay the game until all the DLC is out.

I enjoyed both, but you have to see how lazy DS3 is, and how are the landscaped varied, in any way? You spend half the game in stone corridors or chalice dungeons. I liked the look of Irithyll of the Boreal Valley and the Smouldering Lake, but the rest was copy paste shit with a different instagram filter on it. Dark Souls 1 and even 2 took you all over and it felt like a huge adventure, Dark 3 was just a slog, and I'm not even close to being burnt out on the series.

I always find it really fucking funny how people are currently playing DaS3 shit on build variety in BB. Magic sucks. There's no poise, hope you didn't like STR weps. You're effectively shoehorned into 3 basic builds to be effective and one of them is quality, unless you're running a gimmick luck build where you only get two weapons for some reason even though you've got 20 other identical swords.

It's a matter of preference only. That said, DS3 fucked up with the magic/faith builds. They are the shittiest they've ever been. Reallistically there's only two builds that work: swords and greatswords which translate to dex, str or quality build. You can see that in PVP.

You can do chalice dungeons at any time, do them as you want. At the level you are, you'll shit on everything at first so don't bother even looking around until past depth 3, just run straight to the boss unless you need mats to open up the next chalice.
The loran chalice and up is going to tear your boipussy. A cursed rotted D5 is the hardest content in the series. Do it when you feel like.

Did you roll over to NG+? If so, the DLC will be very hard and similar in difficulty to the depth 4/5 chalice dungeons. If not, the DLC will be easier than the late chalice dungeons.
