I am skeptical.
Basebuilding has a purpose as a mechanic in that it visualises how the force has to establish some form of infrastructure on the battlefield. However it is questionable whether it needs to go as far as setup actual strongholds when in truth the battlefield is only a temporary situation - Spending time and resources to fortify a position that is soon to be abandoned again is a waste.
I really liked that aspect about DoW2 where the whole base-infrastructure was compressed into your basic landingzone/teleporter/magicalspace-timedoor, however I agree that it wouldn't have hurt to expand on that compression by adding at least additional building models to the landing zones. It also gave you the opportunity to focus on the fight as it progressed.
However I am not opposed to going back to setting up my legohouses, but hopefully they do it in a smoother way that cleverly intertwines with battle as it progresses.
Rgarding the trailer, I must say that I absolutely adore the final shot with the falling corpses. It's like a glimpse into the warp or a medieval painting come to life or like one of those paintings by that polish psychopath who painted his nightmares and then died or something. Absolutely marvelous.

Yep and they're probably close to being their best kit yet in terms of quality. Everything on the sprue is clean and sharp, there's very little mouldlines that need to be messed with (and they're easy as fuck to spot and remove).
I couldn't care less about the graphics if they at least catch the 40k atmosphere and bring back the amazing voice acting.

They've taken advice and went back to DoW1 style with the hero's people liked from DoW2.
The graphical style isn't perfect yet, but could easily be dealt with in development by making more crusty and rusted textures.
