Anyone else bugged by how this game looks optically below what it should be for a 2016 game? DE:HR was below the standards of its year as well. Usually /v/ is petty as fuck and now when it's a reasonable issue a game like this gets a pass?
Also what's up with the illogical story. Wouldn't augmented people oppress purists and not the other way around? I thought augmentations made you superior to normies. How can augmented people end up being oppressed?
first point, art style: even /v/ doesn't mind style if the rest of the game is good
second point: there's a lot more nonaugmented than augmented, and most people who did have roboparts wouldn't have had fucking military-grade hardware
Game looks bad, not just graphically, but in the artstyle as well. The story is indeed nonsensical and it has basically nothing to do with Deus Ex anymore, it's too focused on augmentations, just like HR was. This is a similar problem that Invisible War had, where it was too focused on futuristic bullshit that is well past the point of reference for us.
That said, if the game is good, I won't really care. I'm more excited for Dishonored 2, though.

plus it focuses on the augmentations RIGHT NOW because if it told you much more about the story it would ruin it
plus the gameplay/aug trailer is just that, for the augmentations and gameplay, to demonstrate to people what they've got added
Man, you are exactly what's wrong with games these days. They have to put so much money into graphics just to keep up with your expectations that they have to then dumb down the game a shit load in order to get as many sales as possible to make a profit.
I mean, not that graphics should just be an afterthought, but not every game has to be cutting edge. I'd take games that looked like PS2 games if they allowed the gameplay to be more niche and complex any day of the week over shallow crap like Battlefield.
HR was one of the better games of last generation and looked pretty bad. Very rarely are the best games also the best looking of their generation.

Which was a bad idea from the get go. It should have been a reboot or something inspired by Deus Ex in a different universe. That way it could have focused more on the fun conspiracy theories and less on this augmentation bullshit.
