I love Drakengard 3 just as much as Nier. Can't tell ya how many debates I've had about Drakengard 3 being a great game tho. The reason Drakengard 1 isn't on there is because I'm currently replaying it to see if it still holds up.
6/6 Fantastic taste, nice to see another Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time fan too.
Tried as hard as I could to think of a 6th but just didn't have one.

Personally, I think the elements of D1 that were good back in the day are still good now - the unnervingly discordant soundtrack, the crushing atmosphere of anxiety and anger, (some of) the voice work, the general setting, etc. are all still just as novel and interesting as they were at release.
That said, the parts of it that were bad before have aged terribly. ESPECIALLY the basic on-foot combat.

I definitely think it still has all that to it but I'm replaying it mainly for the fact that I've forgotten the feeling. Something I noticed in this new playthrough though is that while it's not ideal, I think it's interesting that the gameplay is so monotonous at times, kinda understanding how Caim himself feels as he slaughters hundreds.
