Those absolute madmen even showed Aerith's death and the ending in the commercials. Guess most people just didn't mind spoilers then.
One thing that is odd to me is that the animations in a lot of 2013 era footage move in bursts. Kind of like the movie watchmen where they attack a guy and then slow down for a moment, only to attack with a burst of speed again after.
That animation style was amazing and now it's all just one continuous stream of attacks without speed increases or decreases.

There's a lot of things I'm disappointed in but overall I have a good feeling about it. Everything I hated about XIII's setting and characters looks to be addressed in some way.
XIII's battle system also had a lot of potential but I think the need to make it palatable to the lowest common denominator and make it as easy as possible ruined it. That's not really a problem with XV because of how simple and action oriented it is, and I hope that means that there's a lot of depth for someone who wants to slow down and take it strategically.
The story looks very FF-esque to me which I don't think XIII was even close to, and even though we only know about the first chapter I don't think it's going to get needlessly complicated and confusing like XIII. As much as I hated XIII's lore I hope there's still a lot of extra lore in XV for those that want to go explore it.
XIII was the exact way to NOT make a Final Fantasy, in their attempt to appeal to both FF fans and normiecasuals they failed to appeal to either. XV looks like it has a lot of the feel of classic Final Fantasy while having the elements that "modern gamers" (read: dumb games journos and normies) expect out of a game.
I dunno, I still really want to like the game, so I'm trying to temper my expectations accordingly. But I'm still excited for it even though I know it won't blow me away. I'm expecting the FF version of Fallout 3, but want the FF version of New Vegas.
