Can we talk about the Earth Defense Force series? I've played this series from the very first one on the 360 up until the one pictured. Each one is pure and mindless fun killing nothing but bugs and robots with whatever manner of destruction you can think of.
I mainly play as the Wing Diver as she's pretty much a Ranger with the ability to fly. The fact that weapons rely on energy may suck as it shares your boost but it makes for some tough decisions between murdering or escaping.
Fencer, at least for me, felt very tough to even slog through the first level on normal.. Moves incredibly slow and the weapons take a fair bit of time to reload. Air Raider I've only touched upon once as he's mainly a support class.
What do you guys think? Which did you play first? Which is your favourite?

The only ones I got to play were Insect Armageddon, 2 (emulated PSP version) and 2025. 2025 is easily the best. Wish I could play 4.1 but I'm not getting a PS4 just for that game.
Fencer becomes the best class, and perhaps even the easiest class you can use to beat certain levels on Inferno difficulty, once you unlock more of his weapons and learn dash canceling.

I've pretty much stuck with the Ranger. I have my hands on a Lysander 2 (thanks to hardest difficulty grinding on that Erginus mission) and it carries me through most of Normal and Hard. In comparison to the others, Ranger is just way more powerful with his no nonsense straightforward weapons.
Despite all the quirky buff type gear and equipment, the Air Raider's array of vehicles and defensive tools are all too weak in almost every regard. How all of his stuff is burdened with limited ammo, long cooldown times and the need to build up points to call in his gear makes him too much of a liability even with a team of friends.
I've hardly done much with the Wing Diver, even after finding some powerful weapons, her style doesn't gel with me.
I have a high level Blasthole Spear with preposterous range for the Fencer and it like the Lysander, lets me chew through virtually everything. Combined with some generic hammer to chain together the jump and dash movements as well as some howitzers, I find the Fencer pretty fun, but still too sloooow.

Whilst most of that stuff is undoubtedly legit, what's the deal with SteamDB? EDF was "Earth Defense Forth", the Journey devs outright said they don't develop outside of PS when they were asked and Half-Life 3's a given. I've even seen people here posting Bloodborne as being in there at one stage last year. Can anyone add submissions that don't necessarily get taken down or something?

I also play/played Ranger on 2025, stopped playing on Hardest because I got fed up with the inconsistent bullshit difficulty. I had the best AF and the Lysander II yet some stages are incredible hard to clear.
