Thematically, Bloodborne is quicker and more aggressive than Dark Souls, and rewards trading hits with enemies through its rally system. It also has quicker & more abundant healing along with a lack of shields, meaning your defensive options are less about preventing damage and more about dodging and regaining health.

No.
Enemies do SIGNIFICANTLY more damage to you than you do to them.
Rally is a way to reward offense-based styles, not reckless trading. Just about everything will kill you in 2-4 hits in BB when you first meet it, and often you cannot rally back 100% of your lost HP without putting yourself at great risk.
