I'm having a fucking BLAST. Lucio and Junkrat are so damn fun, fast-moving (Junkrat has dat sticky jump) and in Lucio's case, really helpful. Only issue is shit like 3 Widows on my team, or recently, 2 Symmetras. All game. Until we lost because NOHEALS.
So far, 9/10 would recommend to most everyone.

I'm not gonna play, I was in the closed beta since last November and it's gotten so boring. The whole "tick rate" meme is noticeable when you play and die after you're behind a wall or something, only to see on the kill cam you never moved. It got stale for me after they only let 100 people in so you end up playing the same group of 6 friends over and over. It has potential but I don't see it becoming a big player in the competitive world despite how much Blizzard will shill it.l (just like HoTS). They have success with Starcraft, no need to get greedy.

Closed beta felt really fun, fair matches and all, open beta weekend is just OP broken combos and just made me instantly realize it's going to go so fucking old even if they nerf them, it'll still be the same old shit constantly. It's not like a Diablo game where they made a really good loot treadmill, it's a shooter where you're supposed to make it feel like you progress as a player when playing.
Not to mention a lot of feeling of being a skill based game goes out the window when you have cooldowns. When you're on cooldown with both of your skills, you're literally at a disadvantage to someone that isn't.

My friend has been shilling this to me for a fucking year. I really didn't care about it since not only am I not a Blizzard fan but it's also a blatant TF2 clone except with a less cohesive artstyle. Which is a pretty impressive feat considering what user-made cosmetics have turned TF2 into.
He's practically begging me to do the open beta this week, so I looked into the gameplay. Seems like they just took TF2 apart and put the pieces back together in a different order. The most obvious bit being Tor "Literally The Engineer" Bjorn except with the dispenser/teleporter duties given to other classes and that angelic medic class with the staff made up of a hybrid of The Medic's guns.
I'll give it a try since it'll be free, but I don't really see myself liking it more than TF2. It's just sad that I won't be able to get any of my friends to play TF2 again now that they're sucked into this.

Playing an unfinished game just burns you out on it faster while getting a lesser experience. I learned that the hard way with Minecraft after I put many hours into the early alpha and burned myself out on it way before it was actually 'done'. The game is now a lot more polished and has a shitload more to do in it, but I just can't be bothered since I already played the shit out of it.
Though at least Minecraft had a "pay us a little bit now, get all content for free forever" promise that they kept. I 100% guarantee that, despite being a full-priced retail game, Overwatch will have plenty of paid expansions and DLC down the line that you MUST purchase in order to keep playing with your friends.

Haven't followed this game much. A bunch of my friends are apparently getting it and want me to play with them, so I did the pre-order yesterday morning after they told me that I could play the free beta early with them if I did. Imagine my surprise when I find out that only people who pre-ordered BEFORE the 29th get in early, because apparently the money I've given now is worth less than those who rushed out to pre-order this shit.
So, I contacted Blizzrd support to get a refund, since no point in pre-ordering if I'm not going to get to play the beta early. Well, Blizzard tells me my wait time is 30 minutes and now its almost two hours past their stated web centers closing time and I have gotten no response.
So, what went wrong OP? A fucking stupid pre-order policy, followed by awful customer service that has made me lose all desire to even touch the fucking game, or any Blizzard product in the future.
Should also be noted that the TV ad that Blizzard is currently running literally says "PREORDER NOW TO GET EARLY ACCESS TO THE BETA ON MAY 3RD!"

I got into the beta early on. Lots of balancing still required. Meta centers around flavor of the month. Game modes are a bit boring. But will likely be fleshed out in the future. Not sure why everyone is losing their collective shit. Its a more interesting version of team fortress 2. Nothing mind blowing about it. But its certainly no batman arkham knight. Maybe as it is now. Its not worth the 40$ now. But id say 20$ is fair. And future maps and heros/support will likely make up for it.

It's not a bad game but it's doomed to repeat the destiny of Street Fighter V, everyone will forget about it in a few weeks apart from the most loyal fans.
The difference is that at least SFV has hardcore audience that has played the genre for more then ten years and Overwatch is too casual to bring in the competitive shooter fans, so in a year it could very well be completely dead

Im not sure it will die. My money is on content trickling in over the next two years.(maps/modes/skins). Followed by game going free to play + hero unlocking system similar to heros of the storm. Die hard blizzard gamers will keep the game afloat long enough for this transition.
