Depends entirely on how they plan to support the game. If they really do keep their promise on releasing heroes/characters for free, then I dont think they will come out as fast as they have for Heroes of the Storm. With HoTS, there is a currency element in place to give people the incentive to pay real money if they dont wanna grind the ingame cunrrency. Without that being the case, you can probably bet new Overwatch heroes will come out much slower

i honestly don't know how i feel about it
on one hand the character variety is cool and heroes are all unique and fun
but those things are not something that can withstand the test of time, in something like TF2, ironically, the broken ass weapon variety and strategies involved by changing load outs is what made the game interesting to me but it also eventually killed the game for me as well because it just got too balls off the walls
overwatch doesn't have that, all the characters are super vanilla and do their one job only and basically forces the player to change characters to adapt to different situations. which punishes autistic waifu fags or people who main characters, though at the same time I think that the highest skill cap of the game is to master multiple heroes because single heroes have relatively low skill ceilings and you really want to constantly counter pick.
i guess this would be similar to moba where you master every single hero of a role you like and specialized in that role, or maybe master one hero in each role to be more flexible
its difficult to tell how deep the game can be but the core game is great as expected and its fun to say the least, we will have to wait for people to discover a meta of some sort until deciding if the game is as shallow and casual as people are claiming
