I was expecting something a lot better.
The combat feels floaty and glitchy as fuck and the hitboxes are all over the place and in general it just feels like a mess.
The FPS is garbage too.

Is magic worth putting points into? Why? It's not like anyone is equipping anything other than Sloth and you can use Sloth with the base stat.

It took a few hours to get to grips with the combat but holy shit it's good.
Switching styles mid combo to get long strings going is great.

Maybe, I think the elemental amulets/talisman probably get increased durations via level. Aside from the additional ones. At least I hope so or there'd literally be no reason to use them when you could pop an amulet.

maybe to have more uses of sloth, with more capacity you can equip multiple of the same and get like 8+ uses I forget
may also want to equip other spells
base stats will give you capacity but not _that_ much

Not really, it's a Way of the Samurai flavored baby of Onimusha and Ninja Gaiden with a coat of Souls paint.

90% of v hasn't played any of those.
WOTS is too obscure. Onimusha is old and hard. Ninja Gaiden is way too hard.
Souls is considered the hardest game evar because it's their first challenging game because they're all 12 years old or just new to gaming I guess.

Scrolls deal amazing damage against bosses
It has gotten to the point where if I'm playing coop I just don't use elixirs and use a kekkai a earth talisman and a sloth talisman.
Only a few more days before you are permanently conquered.
