So, what's stopping me from buying this instead of Zero?
>>
I am.
>>
Nothing. Go buy it.
>>
It's better than zero. Go buy it.
>>
>>336266609
no one cares faggot
>>
I would encourage it, actually

All Zero did was make me want to play 64 again, and the 3ds port is pretty good aside from the voice changes
>>
Andrew's nose is bigger and I can't accept that and the talking head screens look dumber than the original 64 Or Zero. Hell the original on VC is better than this.
>>
>>336266609
Well, you can download it for free instead
>>
>>336267938
No thanks. Physical copy, please. As long as it's used, so Nintendo doesn't get my money.
>>
Well, for starters, it actually has good gyro controls.
>>
Literally nothing. It even manages to have better gyro controls.

Nothing. 64 on the 3DS will last you much longer, even if you know what you're doing.
>>
>>336266838
This, sadly.
>>
>>336266609
people who did not wiimini make me sick.
>>
>>336268657
Is that pic supposed to prove your point?
3 hours 40 minutes is enough to play SF64 4 times and have medals on expert
>>
>>336269429
Yes, it is supposed to prove my point, especially since in 64, it takes a good hour or so just to do a single playthrough. Not to mention, that image was on my first run of the game. I'd like to see someone even unlock hard mode within 4 hours of their first time playing 64.
>>
>>336269651
All I see is that it took you 3:40 hours to complete 25% of the game.
>>
>>336269429
How many of those levels in 64 are riddled with poopy bosses, slow Gyrowing/Chicken Walker segments hacking gimmicks or lack of on-rail segments?
>>
Can someone in this thread explain what the difference between N64 mode and 3DS mode is if you're playing with the gyro controls turned off?

I've been playing n64 mode because I don't understand what 'balanced for the gyro' is supposed to mean
>>
>>336269829
*with hacking gimmicks
>>
>>336266609
They're both great so why not buy both?
>>
>>336266609
Nothing, you probably should.
>>
>>336269848
"balanced for gyro" = balanced for more fuckups; enemies take more damage, you take less damage and each wing can take 5 hits (instead of 3 on N64 mode) before they break
>>

>>336269819
No. It took me 3:40 to finish the game. There's nothing more for anybody who isn't a completionist. No additional modes, no competitive multiplayer, nada.

But here ya go. A 100% completed game. Completing this game in full only takes slightly longer than a single playthrough of any other game. Even 64 lasted longer than this. I still got all the high score gold medals in challenge mode to get in that game.
>>
>>336270218
Oh fuck that, good thing I haven't bothered with it then
>>
>>336270218
What's this about the wings now? Is that even a thing? Because I never lost a wing at all in Zero as far as I could tell.

Does Zero's gyro control have adjustments for sensibility? Once I jacked up that in Splatoon the game controlled really well.
>>
>>336270478
The other anon was asking about the 3ds game
>>
>>336270590
Zero has 3 options.

Ascend/Descend switching
Motion Controls Always on or Only on while shooting
3D Voices on or off

Literally no other options.
>>
>>336270590
>adjustments for sensibility
Nah, it's stuck being a dense clod that forgets your fucking birthday, unfortunately
>>
>>336270717
So one less control option than SF64 3D and one more than SF64.
>>
>>336270235
Did you do this with the less durable ship, or is that what's known as Hard Mode in Zero? That sounds like it would add quite a lot of replay value to me. If it took you 11 hours to 100% it beat it on normal mode, it would take three times that long to beat Hard Mode and 2X Damage Output/Intake mode. By some reasoning at least.

If i had to pick between SF643D and Zero, I would be inclined to go with Zero if that's the case.
>>
>>336271345
There isn't a hard mode. There's just one mode.

There is Falco's Black ship which takes triple damage, but it also deals a lot of damage, so much so that you can kill Leon in Fichina before he's even done introducing himself.

It's less Hard Mode and more Heaven or Hell Mode.
>>
>>336270235
I'm not the retard you're replying to, but doesn't the game have an arcade mode for score hunting? Because if you like the game enough that might be fun.
>>
>>336272667
Well, if I didn't like the game, I wouldn't have completed it 100%. I'm not saying I disliked Zero. I probably liked it more than the average reviewer, but its length is still much too short for a $50 game.

>It's the "look at how little time it takes to play through zero! It's shit!" argument.

Every thread. Every fucking thread. Did all of you just stop playing 64 after you unlocked everything or did you actually have fun with the game and played arcade mode over and over to your heart's content? Because that's literally what they intended for you to do with Zero, in case nobody got the memo.
>>
>It's an assblasted anon runs in screaming to defend his recent purchase episode
>>
>>336271634
Gotcha. Thanks.
>>
>>336273207
Would you say you'd replay it in the arcade mode one night or another from time to time to just have mindless fun?
>>
>>336274140
No. If I want mindless fun, I'll find something that I can play while laying down on a bed, or sprawled out on the couch, spread eagle position, something I can't do with motion controls.
>>
>>336266881
I care, Suck my dick. choke on it.
>>
>>336273346
Well, I'd rather play 64 over and over because it isn't filled with gimmicky shit like the Gyrowing/Chicken Walker.
>>
>>336266609
Good luck finding a physical copy in North America for cheap. Either buy the digital copy (ha!) or just pirate the damn thing. I got a physical copy over a year ago for super cheap, but don't overpay.
>>
>>336266609
its not on sale anymore. you'd need to get the reprint which is fucking worthless.
>>
>>336273449
Are you retarded?
>>
>>336275167
>>336275279
My Gaystop has a copy for $40.
>>
I just finished a 2 hour play session with Zero and I just wanted to play 64 the whole time.

64 3D is objectively the best Star Fox game.
>>
You should buy the original Star Fox instead since it's the best Star Fox game.
>>
>>336276643
64 sucks at some parts desu, I find the aiming in Zero makes things far more manageable and the hitreg and hitboxes in 64 3D suck pretty bad.

If Zero didn't have the fucking gyrocopter bullshit it'd be a really good game.
>>
>>336266609
both are great, just get both
>>
>>336277470
The gyrowing is used for all of a mission and a half. There's much worse things out there.
>>
>>336277470
>If Zero didn't have the fucking gyrocopter bullshit it'd be a really good game.

It's literally 1 mission. It's the Blue Marine of Star Fox Zero.
>>
>>336273207
what the fuck are you saying, the replay value of this shit is higher than most fighting games out there for $60
>>
>>336266609

I don't get the appeal of SF. Even doujin games like Astebreed manage to look better and be more fun.
>>
>>336274679
That's nice. I'll enjoy them for you.
>>
>>336277919
I stopped playing SFZ after one weekend.

I'm still playing Smash Bros 4 almost two years later.

What the fuck is this apple to oranges shit anyway?
>>
>>336279554
Fine by me. Fuck those segments. What time are you coming over?
>>
Is everybody against the Walker in SF0 against it in Star Fox 2?
>>
>>336273346
Even getting absolutely everything takes sub 20 hours for SF0.
It's an incredibly short game with little content, it's not worth $60.
>>
>>336266609
I will do you fast peppy old pal!!

I hope not because I am super fucking into a button that will transform you from land to air vehicle instantly in any situation
In both 2 and 0 I think it's the best, especially transforming in space to stop forward momentum and then transforming back for a quick u turn escape
>>
The circle pad on the 3DS feels like shit to use.
>>
>>336266609
do yourself a favor and get 64 3d. zero is shit. its "master the controls simulator 2016". it removes all FUN from the arcade rail shooter genre that is starfox, and replaces it with spot on but redundant controls.

The people trying to say that gyro aiming is more accurate, to me, are implying that aiming in Star Fox 64 was hard to begin with, which was not the case. It was pretty easy to pick up.
Are those people the TRUE scrubs?
