i honestly feel its because of when they announced the wii u

to casual gamers who bought the wii the wii u looked like an unecessary addon since all they showed was the controller at an announcement

and there was really no hint that it was an actual console, and the fact that their games to the casual audience they want so bad are all starting to look the same after all these years no matter how many gimmicks they sprinkle onto them
