I know I don't have many friends with this opinion out there but seriously: isn't Dark Souls 3 overhyped in comparaison to Dark Souls 2. Played for over 100 hours of DS3 now and I think it's clearly inferior to its predecessor.
DS2:

I've yet to play DS3 but Im just at Drangleic castle in 2 and feel like all the hate is insane hyperbole, or carried over from the original release which I've never touched.
Sure it's different in places, but there's nothing so far that I've found to be an outright negative beyond superfluous complaints like it seemingly having nothing to do with DS1 as far as I can tell. It's fucking great, and I've not even gotten to the apparently great DLC either.

To be honest, Dark Souls 2 is the one I've played the most and I would say that it is definitely the worst one, if you don't count the DLC.
The DLC fucking revived that game and made it so much better

DaS 1 is a 9.5/10DeS is a 6.5/10 and while I respect it for starting the series, it's not very fun compared to the others now
I've noticed that if Dark 2 was your first Souls game you'll always defend it. Doesn't change it from being vastly inferior to Demons, Bloodborne, or Dark 1 (in that order)

Yes, true, the DLC is the coat of excellence on DS2. But I would have liked DS3 to be more in that line. I mean, most of the time it's really like you're wandering through woods and ruins. Classic dungeon crawler feeling you might say but DS2 was more inventive in its surroundings.

Bloodborne had really cool aesthetic and art design but it all felt the same, no variance.
Demon Souls was all castles besides a few areas.
DaS 2 was very imaginative with the DLC but a little bland otherwise
