What kinda black magic does Croteam use for serious same?
So what, was this some kind of panic move? Did they realize that the backlash was just too much this time?
I can only imagine that the game will be buggy as hell now.
>>336244740
I doubt it. It'll come out, it'll be a perfectly okay but unremarkable MM clone and will promptly forgotten about not long after, with people in the years to come occasionally bringing up and laughing at its rocky development.

Cute anime girls and boys as bosses that transform into mechanoids and chuuni superpowers with cut-ins, haikus and everything, and you control a guy with a braid and a midriff that doesn't give a single shit.
>>336245142
They wanted to add an online mode. Among other issues.
>>336245142
They claim it's because of some shitty online mode they have to add, but I call bullshit. No reason they couldn't just add it as free DLC later if the whole game was done other than that. They probably delayed it to try to keep polishing it because what they have is so fucking underwhelming.
>>336244194
>>336244194
>>336245370
That actually sounds like a good plan though. Not enough games these days take the time to not release as a buggy mess. If they're trying to polish it then that's more than can be said for a lot of AAA titles.
>>336244835

Sure, if they'd acknowledge that the game wasn't living up to expectations, it would be wise, though still frustrating for the people who gave them 4 mil and still didn't have a decent product in three years.
If they are in fact polishing the game still and are lying about it being totally complete aside from this online feature, that's just bad all around. And really, at this point, who honestly thinks they are even capable of delivering a good product? They had a clear vision for the game when they started and a promising art style to aim for in the mockups they presented. They've fallen so far short of the mark I think it's way too late now no matter what they do.

Inafune started the project with a SJW dev team called Comcept and as we all know, liberal trash are all talk and drama with no work ethics. So they proceeded to shit out a mess that was lack luster, had missing features and was buggy to boot. Inafune realized he had fucked up and handed what was done of the game to another dev team called Inti Creates who has a good track recrod.
Now Inti Creates has to salvage what they can of that piece of shit Comcept made, which is why it keeps being delayed.

4 million is a tight budget, for a game made by a large studio.
I don't have the graphic that gets posted around a lot but smaller indie games like this can and regularly are made on much lower budgets.
Much like with Double Fine's kickstarted titles it's not a matter of how tight the budget is but how incompetent the people handling it are.
More importantly than anything else if a budget is tight then maybe they should have estimated a higher amount to start with. I can't say I have the slightest interest in or desire to play that indivisible game but I appreciate that those devs at least asked for what they thought it'd cost upfront and didn't ask for next to nothing and make basic features stretch goals unlike so many KSes these days.

Every budget is tight when you miss milestones and miss your deadline by the better part of a year.
I can't help but be genuinely excited for Based Conman's masterpiece. I know it has no chance of being better than a 6/10, but I just want a new Megaman game so much.
So... did those $10k backers ever get their fucking dinner date? Last I heard a few months back that too had been delayed which to me was amongst the most hilarious parts of this entire saga and really kind of a distillation of what an incompetent fucking hack Inafune is. I mean shit, this is about the easiest scheduling ever, and just basic politeness, you're just inviting someone on a nice business dinner. Everyone eats nice food and has fun discussing stuff and then that's it. You just have to do it promptly and with basic competence.
Although at this point (or any time after, say, 6 months or so) dunno if any of them would even want it, would be pretty fucking awkward unless they were blind drooling fanboys. Rather then a dinner full of hope (even if based on lies) now you basically want to avoid bringing up MN9 at all. Kind of wrecks the atmosphere to sit down with Conman-san.

- own engine so no licensing fees
- the studio is tiny (not even 20 people were working on it) combined with lower salaries
- quite a lot of the assets were already done from other projects like their cancelled military shooter, their Doom 4 proposal and earlier SS games and the variety of assets isn't exactly high, which results in SS3's "construction kit"-look.

Eh, could be worse. I deserved it, and $20 (it's one of my two KS failures in the entire time I've used the site) is minimal for a bit of lesson in doing due diligence and not getting caught up in hype. I've spent more on movie tickets and food that ended up being more awful, to some extent MN9 has been such an absolutely hilarious fuckup blunder that I've gotten a certain amount back in amusement anyway.

I've moved since then and have sent tons of emails since about a year ago but have gotten zero replies from CON-cept.
If I even get the game, I'm just going to finish it quickly and sell it. I never sell my games, but fuck this shit I want someone to buy my used copy instead of giving these fucks any more money than they already practically stole. Fuck Comcept. Fuck Inafune. Fuck Kickstarter.

That sounds like it would require too much planning. I think there's a bigger chance it will ship with all levels, but will require a patch that basically changes everything about all the levels, effectively requiring you to download everything.
I don't think they're working on a per level basis, so they'll all be about as unfinished as the others. Not one will be good.

I'm genuinely curious. How do you take this as a failure?
They got 4 million dollars and are sure to make some money off the licensing deals they've acquired, on top of that they still have traditional retail release which is sure to at least garner some attention and sales.
I'm pissed I backed it, but you have to admit they clearly didn't put a lot of that money into development of the game otherwise it'd look better. This means they're pocketing a lot of the cash and really banking on the TV show and other licensed media and have little faith in the game.
Crying "its gonna fail!" seems a little early at this point.
I will wait the day of it's release just to laugh at it, i'm not even bother to pirate it or anything.

You just know they did. They have half-assed every facet of this ordeal, anon.
>>336243710
I cannot wait for this game to come out. For the first month or so, we'll get diehards saying, "Okay, sure it doesn't look the best, but it's still pretty fun!" and "Okay, nobody likes that level, but the other ones are good!" (they will say this for every level). Then, after some time has passed, not even the staunchest fan will be able to defend this shitshow.
>>336258865
And you paid for literally nothing.
>mfw reading the comments on the kickstarter page
holy shit people are PISSED
I haven't been paying attention. What's so bad about this?
It's normal for games to be delayed for this long
It's not normal for it to be admitted in a public space like this
>>336261202
They still got 4 million to fund the game.
And the backers don't mean jack shit if the game doesn't sell on release.
In fact there are probably going to be people selling their Kickstarter reward copies to game stores, and Comcept will have to take them back from the stores, which means a loss of profit.
>>336262082
>on the Kickstarter page
>people are pissed
I guarantee you that over half of the comments are idiots with buyers remorse trapped in the Denial stage.
Read the thread and look at the images if you want to know.

>Now that the dust has settled
god damn it /v/
So why hasn't Capcom sued them for the likeness of Mega Man? There are so many similarities between this and Mega Man. I honestly hope they wait for the game to come out and sue the fuck out of them.
>Now that the dust has settled, we will be delivering Mighty No. 9 to everyone next month. How long will it take you to clear the main story on NORMAL? How many people are going to be able to clear MANIAC mode? What is going to be the fastest record for the time attack mode? We are looking forward to seeing the community answer all of these questions for us!
>>336262339
>And the backers don't mean jack shit if the game doesn't sell well on release
That's precisely what I'm getting at though anon. Re-read my post. 67,000 backers is nothing.
Even if all 67,000 backers trade their copies in, as long as the game manages to clear 100,000 sales it won't matter that much because they secured 4million to fund the game and have been clearly enjoying that money. They haven't worked hard. They haven't even done market research.
Everything from the art to the music to the graphics is half-assed. This "all-star" team turned out to be one giant ruse. Like I said, as long as it manages to do "ok" on traditional release and the TV show gets "some" success", it can't really be considered a failure. They successfully ripped off 4 million dollars for 67,000 people.
>tfw I've backed nothing on Kickstarter
>>336262464
I mean I'll admit I haven't read all the comments but I am not sure about half of the comments being that.
as far as reading the thread goes, I'm not really sure what to believe
>>336246308
>>336243710
lol, I feel bad for all those retards that were fooled by Inajew
I honestly don't get why everyone is so mad about Inafune and Mighty No.9
I mean, yeah, shit sucks he delayed it, but what do you guys think about The Last Guardian?
Maybe I'm biased, but I sympathize with a guy who started his own studio from nothing. You guys get mad about the whole TV show, but what is he supposed to do? Fire his studio if Mighty No 9 the game isn't a big success?
I guess everyone is just mad about their expectations not being met.

>reaction image is from a kickstarted game

It's one of the most anticipated indie games being released this year.
Apparently it has millions of randomly generated planets and people are going to be able to pop into one another's galaxies and what-not.
MN9, in comparison, is a shitty ripoff megaman clone that everyone already lost faith in years ago.
>>336263532
i'd be less pissed if the game didn't look like 2.5D bullshit that isn't fun to play
but thats exactly how it looks
>>336246308
>>336263532
Maybe because the game's complete shit and no amount of delays will help polish this turd?
>>336257246
>it'd be even worse if they shat it out earlier
It was going to be shit regardless.
They didn't even improve upon the shitty demo they shat out.

Good lord is that Game Grumps in the background
You know what's the worst part?
If I had a time machine and warned you faggots what would happen, you'd call me butthurt and tell me to go back to Plebbit.
You deserve this, /v/. You deserve everything bad that happens to you.

Hypothetical situations like these can't be proven anon. Just let it go.

18 quintillion planets, mane.

That's my point. I've donated nothing and still enjoyed the fruits of the labor.
>>336264516
it's not

>>336264252
You gave someone money to make a game like before they had anything at all made.
Honestly Anon, what did you expect? MM2?
Maybe you should think your kickstarter pledge as a pledge to help a studio get off the ground.
>>336264851
>You gave someone money
Are you retarded?
