Both, wrong and in case of the second one, also stupid. GW has been throwing out their IP like candy since forever. Anyone who could pitch a decent idea would get a chance. GW's practice has always been to accept ideas that sound relatively good and give out IPs, if only in terms of brand awareness.
Basically a "throw shit against the wall and see what sticks" approach. This has been known for years now, since it isn't exactly a secret(meaning that GW employees actually answer if you ask them on GDs.)
So to clarify, the wave of Warhammer games has nothing to do with GW in particular, but with developers picking the IP up. GW's policy has always been to give it out, if devs/publishers can pitch the right idea. Thats the reason why there are so many shitty games.

Once again, lying doesn't get you anywhere anon. Sure WHFB wasn't as successful as 40k(which drew in many people due to the ""iconic"" setting), but as a tabletop game, it did well enough. The TT scene is small enough anyway. The only reason FB got canned, is because by now, the financial department has taken the reigns over at GW. Not really. The new models come out for each faction and the WHFB players can make up rules for them. They've already done it. It's not hard. WHFB wasn't played enough, anon. This is a simple fact. I dunno what to say. My armies (well, only one 'army' is left, but I did keep other models) aren't going anywhere unless I sell them. I can play AoS or play WHFB.
Regardless. Total War: Warhammer will be much more enjoyable than WHFB ever was in my eyes.
