Nobody ever said it was hard, that's not what Metroid is about. Whoever told you is on the loopy side. Metroid is mainly exploration and it's tone/essence of story telling.

Metroids are piss easy enemies anyways.

Fission Metroids in MP were pretty bad fuckers. Could only 'kill' them with a power bomb and they respawned indefinitely.
