I'd think that Shadow, being the third most intelligent character in canon, would be smart enough to know a good game from a shit one and would never play blunderfail.
The guy just spent the entire previous game chasing down "Eggman" (who had him cryogenically sealed away for who knows how long) to find out who he is and/or what his past is (because apparently Rouge couldn't tell him JACK SHIT about it) only to have Eggman not actually be Eggman, but Neo Metal Sonic instead. Then, when it's all over, Eggman disappears and Rouge and Omega find the shadow clones/androids. I'd be pissed too if I crossed the world on foot to get something only to not get it. Poor guy.
