it seems strange to me that the only benefit of a console is the fact that companies secure exclusivity deals. The platforms purpose deteriorates simply if or when it's games leave the system.

Does a game being on multiple platforms somehow degrade your experience on your preferred platform?

Also, when it shows the years it shows all platforms they made games on, then when it shows the game it shows the platforms it came out for specifically. So it doesn't necessarily mean that the next game they're making is going to be on all of those platforms. It just means they plan on releasing games for those platforms in the future.

why do you people get so upset over such a stupid issue? Console architecture is at a point where there is virtually no difference between a console and a mid level gaming PC. There is no point for a developer to not maximize sales by developing for all non-meme platforms provided the market exists crossplatform and you're not trying to make an RTS or other keyboard mandatory genres on a console.
