Because it's open to abuse. Instead of learning how to be a man and function in society, they can just take the easy way out, get female entitlements and benefits while they're still the same failed guy inside. Basically it incentivizes mediocrity and chips away at the gender and family standards that are the cornerstone of any succesful society. That's why it needs to be restricted to fringe cases, and only tolerated at best, not constantly cuddled and encouraged. Basically you should be able to do it, but only if you really need to, and you shouldn't expect special privileges for it.

This is where I most agree with you. Gender dysphoria is certainly a real thing, and those that genuinely suffer from it should be given the help they need. At this point that may just be transition. But we shouldn't be encouraging it in quite the way we are.
