Remove anything nearby that they could hurt themselves with.

Don't put anything in their mouth, including your fingers. You're asking to get them bitten off.

Don't try to move them or restrain their movements unless not doing so would put them in danger.

When the seizure ends the patient will be groggy, sleepy or unconscious (post-ictal). You can put them into the recovery position to help them breathe.

If it is the patient's first ever seizure, if the seizure lasts more than five minutes, or the patient has two or more seizures without totally recovering between them, call an ambulance.

My country has us take a mandatory life support course but it's fucking worthless, no one involved actually cares and they don't really explain shit because they don't have enough time for everyone. You spend like an hour actually learning shit and it's so half-assed you forget everything anyway. The best part is that it's part of a one-day program that replaced the military service and they waste 80% of the day telling you about useless shit related to "citizenship", Europe and other shit no one cares about, as well as shilling for the army instead of focusing on the only useful part which is life support. It's fucking baffling.
