Bonehoard is the shit and I liked the grittier feel of The City.
I'm glad that the upcoming, unfortunately titled fan campaign is making a point of paying tribute to that.
I prefer the levels of 1 myself
2 made tons of little improvements though and also has Life of the Party. The first mission is also better for teaching beginners
2 also has a shit ton more FMs

First one had the highest peaks, but the second one is better overall
not that I don't like the spoopy dark fantasy shit, but I liked 2 more because it involved more regular thieving than 1 did.

Do you know what is funny about Thief 1 and Thief 2?Both games are so great that i won't be mad for people choosing either of them as their favorite.

Up to "Escape!" 1 is perfect.
Both games have rushed endings but 1 takes the cake in this regard.
Overall 1>2 but
the ending of 2 > the ending of 1

I'm gonna have to go with Thief 2. I'm still playing through Thief 1, but some levels are a chore to go through, like the fire tower in the Mages' tower level, but I still like Thief 1 for its atmosphere.
The real question is which level has the best map

Thief 1 has bunnyhopping and that gives it the edge.
I like the supernatural stuff so I'll go with 1
