Because anime-to-vidya hardly ever gets any real budget or even decent developers, outside of very rare chance. It's a damn shame, I kind of wish Sunrise would bring it back
But then I also wish for a revival of the original Battle Angel Alita that isn't LO or MC, and that isn't going to happen until James Cameron finally puts Avatar to bed, which probably won't be in our lifetimes.

Personally though I would pick the more powerful Shizuru to play as if given the choice. I love summoners and the HiME would make interesting characters to play as since they are all summoners and have various weapons/fighting styles.

Reminds me of the Otome manga where all the Hime turn up and are obscenely overpowered. And then the trap harem lead saves the day. That manga was a really weird adaptation.

It's not JUST that. Fighting feels alot better in Iamp to soku. More grounded, i din't feel in control in the new ones. You float down and are quickly sent up and viceversa, the space feels rather limited because of the new movement restrictions.
There are more things like the special moves with cutscenes losing their novelty after a few matches and leaving you twingling your fingers
