Feels bad to me.
Starbound struck while the iron was hot. Terraria was in a period of inactivity, and fans already ate up all the content and were starving for a similar experience.
Enter Shitbound, with the perfect "link" to Terraria, the garbage "artist" Tiyuri, whose claim to fame was ripping FFV sprites to slightly edit for Terraria.
90k concurrent players on its opening. I doubt it breaks 3k today.

Only discovered this game about 2 weeks ago. Me and my SO are hyped for its launch, we deciding to wait for 1.0 before starting.

I got it because it was fun at first.
Then they killed the game and the only way for me to keep enjoying it, was to mod it myself. That was tiring and frustrating and then I quit it for good. No idea, but the stuff I found fun in the game were deemed "problemetic" by the devs.

Got it way early on. Had ups and downs, have had a lot of fun building. Never gone more than two months without killing significant time with this game. Mods were fun. I like it.
Only started looking at Starbound because it was "releasing" soon. I never pay attention to early access until they actually release. It looks like fun, and I'm about done with Terraria and prefer sci-fi settings anyway. A fan of Star Ocean mostly, so hopefully it scratches that itch. Maybe I'll wait a few months after official release or wait for a Steam sale. I've got no expectations so when I do play, I'll be surprised. I just feel bad for anyone else who've been playing for this whole time.
