If it does end up as just a handheld in the end, it doesn't need saving. It'll probably at least do moderately well on its own. As a console though, who knows.

Something they obviously have no actual reason to do (if for no other reason than their money stores): innovating controls to standardize the mouse and keyboard or similar, developing multiplayer games that are well made and skillful.

Make the NX a dedicated VR console. That's literally the only thing that would make me interested in that product.

No, it won't. Modern mobile phones can emulate GCN games, and have controller adapters.

Literally no reason to own an expensive dedicated portable console, when the device in your pocket can play every game from gen 6 back, and every portable game, and even has its own library and VR capabilities.

Phones are the new form of mobile gaming, Nintendo is better off making games for that platform.
