They constantly re-use a shitton of assets, meaning that it's cheap as fuck to churn them out. They sell well enough and they help fund Compile Hearts other games.
Cheap and easy to make and their audience doesn't care about the quality.

I own all the games and PC ports. Mega Nep and Blanc's game will come to PC soon. I'm not biased. It's just the Neptunia franchise gets a real bad reputation from the Rebirth remakes being reused assets out the ass with poor meme writing. Mega Nep and Blanc's game all have new levels, new music, better writers and writing, Neptune is true to her Japanese character and made a cute and likeable girl instead of someone who literally talks about memes.
I'm recommending you the two highest quality games in the series. Blanc's game comes May 10th but its been out in Japan and it's a really solid game.

I'd say it's okay. I knew a little bit about some of the other games, and it was my first Neptunia game, but the single player content rubs me the wrong way.
The cheesy shit they do with the characters in the setting of a movie shoot is not bad and can get some chuckles out of you. Then there's the levels where the only real challenge is the larger enemies because they don't seem to have hitstun. You have to be careful enough to play defensively or use some hit-and-run tactics. It ended up getting kind of boring so the only thing keeping me going were the cutscenes.
Multiplayer's missions are pretty fun though. Grabbing a few people to join you livens up the game. You can even solo it since HP scales to the number of people, but make sure you know how to Just Guard so you can spam SP Skills. Multiplayer also has like,12 new bosses, but a few of then get reskins inflating it up to somewhere around 14 I think.
Got leaked onto PSN for an hour on the 26th because someone didn't get the memo about the actual release date. Turns out the delay might've been for voice acting, because pic related switches audio from English to Japanese automatically.

Honestly I'd say most of the Nep games are just okay or worse, but they still fill a nice little weeb hole in my heart.
I feel like I keep coming back to them over time because they never try to be anything more that what's on the tin.
No deep plots.
No plot twists.
No fuss over character representation.
Just tropes, cliches, and girls beating the shit out of things.
It's a nice breather from more serious-minded games.
