It's not really that they wanted the Age of Fire to end, they just didn't care about anything other than one another. So they just ran away but people continued to pursue them. Lorian was born sickly, Lothric was crippled and made mute by Lorian's curse, but he didn't mind it (their soul even states he preferred it that way).
Dancer probably had some of the shittiest luck in DS3, though very little can ever top Artorias and Sif.
