Oh Hell Yeah! The first chapter was great. The second chapter cut together what little it had to look spectacular, then was quickly over.
The patches to the game really help balance the slow points to progression, but you will still spend hours looking for gems and better soldiers to fulton.

Level design mostly. The game was about free-running (and, although movement systems have improved since then, it wasn't bad at it), but the levels were just choke-point after choke-point. You had characters that could run on walls and slide through obstacles, but all you were really doing was leaping and sliding to the big gridlocked objective so you could shoot it out like in any other FPS.
It was like the development team was split in halves and the two sides thought they were making different games. Calling it shit might be a bit harsh, but it was hugely disappointing.

I remember way back, seeing the CG teaser for I Am Alive and I thought it would turn out to be one other coolest games I'd ever play. The setting was going to be unique, the gameplay I could imagine as a real survival simulator, needing to find food and water above all else, make sketchy calls about trusting certain people or groups, setting traps and ambushes to take what you need, using a limited arsenal of weapons, mostly everyday objects, seeing as you take the role of an average Joe.
But of course, it was a CG trailer so it didn't really show any of that, and it was the last time I ever got hyped for a game based on those alone. The game was absolutely sub par, with shells of all those concepts and all put together to be somehow be bland and boring as fuck and it was completely unfinished, as if they just pumped out what they had as an alpha demo, which wouldn't surprise me honestly.

-Those fucking level where the only ways you were killed could be by off screen enemy
-How the fans were killed too quickly (only 4 level with them? wew) and how two of them was just useless (Mark and the twins) and there wasn't enough mask and a real variety of gameplay
-The soldier could have had more weapon and gameplay variety.
-More enemy types. We see only 1 double gun wielding soldier in the soldier wtf?
-No real boss in game
-No weapon unlock
-Half of hotline miami 1's weapon

Those 3 games killed all the hype for future games for me.
BioWare went from perfect to total fucking shit after Dragon Age Origins.
Bioshock Infinite was so fucking disappointing and dumb, especially after those great early trailers.
But Metal Gear Solid V was the most disappointing game ever for me. All the other main games in the series were 10/10 perfect for me, even 4 and Peace Walker. But V was so fucking disappointing. The godly trailers and all that speculation was much better than the final game.
