It was buggy as shit for me. I had to actually erase my save and start anew because of a progress blocking bug. Wii U player btw.
Got to play a little bit of this at PAX East, it's pretty fun. I like the art style (I'm a huge sucker for low-poly) and the gameplay seems alright. Timed hit kinda stuff, but a little different than the usual "press a right before landing" kinda thing.
Can't really speak to the larger story, or the characters personalities, but I'm optimistic. The voice acting is okay, nothing stood out. It seems charming and possibly fun. I'll definitely check out reviews of the full game as launch approaches.The dev's wife was there, she and I talked for a bit about the game. She's very nice.

Post-Modern really doesnn't exist in video games because they, as a medium, have not evolved far enough to really be considered post modern in design in concept. To quickly sum up what Post-Modernism is the furthering of themes that debate what reality is, and the objective truths of a persons reality, instead approaching reality on a case by case basis, often this is approached by looking at the framing devices of a story and calling them out, or by having a character realize he is in a story and wondering what that means for himself as a charterer in a story.

How this game is a Post-Modern game I really have no clue and have no way to play the game to find out. I could make a snap judgement based on the art, but I can assume that because they call out that their game is Post-Modern that it is in fact not Post-Modern.

It's not that Raiden is a whiney bitch, it's that Raiden is the player trying to emulate Snake. You are playing to be Solid Snake, but instead you are given the literal interpretation of YOU, a person raised on video game simulations thrown into a war zone to try and succeed.

As for how the narrative is postmodern, the game uses intertextuality to tell it's story. It revolves around a message board known as ONISM1999, which the hereoes are users of. This is updated as the game goes on, and the player will often interact with NPCs through the games message board. Not unlike how House of Leaves is about a book, about a movie, that doesn't actually exist. There are various other things, but this will hopefully be enough of an explanation. And of course, it's also used so people ask this question and notice the game! :P
