What went right?
>>
This should would've been better without some sort of faggy narrative and just a straight up first person blast em up like Hardcore Henry
>>
>>336072332

Nothing. The plot abandoned the hell narrative in favor of a military experiment gone wrong leading to zombies and biotech monstrosities--likely due to the fact that pushing the hell narrative so hard would have offended random groups in the US, which would have sued willy nilly for free monies.

Good movie.

The cast
Awesome practical effects by Stan Winston
CGI used only when necessary
First person sequence
Lots of gore and language

if this movie was based on Doom 4 it would have been accurate
>>
>>336072839
This movie doesn't have an evil robot as an antagonist though

The FPS scene was cool. Rest was just dumb.

>>
>>336073118

They didn't get John Carpenter on creature design.

Hell Knight wielding a chainsaw
I unironically think this is cooler than it trying to awkwardly throw projectiles inside such a cramped environment

Why would they keep giant chainsaws around on a space station on Mars which lacks any trees?

the bfg was cool
>>
>>336073436
The way everything moves around really minds me of those Area 51 shooting games at places like Chuckie Cheese and Dave N Busters.
>>
>>336072332
The first person scene was really cool.
>>
>>336073716

They are back on earth at that point in the film.

>>
>>336073716
isn't the place they're in that scene on earth?
>>
>>336073716
I think that scene takes place back on Earth, but the facility is in the middle of the desert so it still makes no sense lol
>>
>>336073716
As others have already pointed out, this scene is on earth. However, even in the first Doom explains the presence of chain saws as a clerical error resulting in a mishipment
>>
>>336073197
Is that movie worth a torrent? It got shit reception but that doesn't mean shit most of the time.

You have to realize that the budget for this was $60 million. That went towards:
Building the sets
Monster costumes & practical effects (Stan Winston isn't cheap)
CGI effects
The elaborate FPS sequence
Actor's salaries (I'm sure The Rock wasn't cheap, even back then)

I think that if the budget was double that, they could do scenes set in Hell, more action sequences, a more expansive UAC lab, and a larger roster of demons, especially ones that would require CGI like the Lost Souls, Cacodemons, Revenants, Mancubus, Cyberdemon, and Spider Mastermind.

Still, I think that even with $60 million they could at least have included a scene with demons invading, so that doesn't excuse them neglecting the source material.
>>
>>336072332

they got the title font right

that's about it
