But unlike most games that give you erections while playing, it's actually good. Great even.
It gives everyone what they want. If you want the fanservice, it has it in spades. If you want the Metroidvania gameplay, it has sequence breaking, lots of collectibles, optional areas. If you like the bullet hell, it has challenging bosses and multiple difficulty settings. Great soundtrack too, and they've been giving it a lot of free updates post release.
My only gripe is that the enemies in the areas between bosses are too easy, regardless of the difficulty mode.

There is no NG+, you either start on a difficulty or you don't.
They added an npc in a patch that lets you change difficulty but it only lets you go lower in difficulty, not higher (unless you are in chapter 1 still, at which point you might aswell just start from a higher difficulty to begin with)

I bought this shit yesterday expecting to give it a good hour or two and maybe just play it on and off for the next few weeks.
I spent seven fucking hours nonstop playing it. I couldn't believe that games like this still existed and were being made. I'm only disappointed that I didn't buy it earlier now.
/v/ is actually pretty good for recommendations if you know how to parse through the shit. It was a /v/ thread that made me say, "ah, fuck it, it's on sale."
That game is so good. OST is phenomenal. The controls are tight and fun. The sound design for everything is extremely well done and the boss fights are spectacular; they really know how to do the little things, like how when you get up close to a boss you get the speed lines and the zoom in; that's really fucking good and it feels great.
Story is not great. That's my only gripe, but I really don't care at this point. It's good enough.
Also, a question for anyone that's played it:
ARE THERE ANY MISSABLES IN THE GAME? For example, are there any points in the game where I should hold off on doing the main story to do side shit?

There's no NG+ or item carryover between playthroughs. However if you've done 100% items in one game then when you start again you'll remember where hidden items are and where to go first to get the good movement abilities.
I started on Hard mode and when I beat that and tried Hell I found it a lot easier at the start than it was on Hard.

If you didn't have double-jump then the attack would have been different. A bunch of the bosses have moves that can change if you don't have certain jumping abilities. (The final final boss on a 0% item run for example)

There aren't any missables (sometimes certain characters might not appear in certain chapters but you can always get them later), and even the areas you normally can only access once in the story can be revisited after beating the game.
But anyway, if you want to 100% the game you have to beat the game multiple times anyways on different difficulty settings.

This game is horribly overrated by weebs on /v/. The boss fights are great, but the actual levels are poorly designed and the enemies inhabiting them are pushovers. If I wanted to play an actually good indie metroidvania I would play Valdis Story.

I would say normal. I've only played on normal, but it feels fine as it has more attack patterms and is fairly hard for my first time through, but still manageable once you understand how a particular boss fight goes.

Never got passed cat boss in Bunny Must Die, finished this game. Much tighter controls, when you change direction you immediately change facing like how every other side scroller does it, none of the attacks are random, and jumping isn't as tied down to facing or start up acceleration, more how long you hold the jump button down. The thing you will have to get used to is the hit box: Bunny Must Die you can get touched anywhere and get hurt, Rabi's hitbox is her chest, its really the only annoying part of the game since no one knows the exact pixel size of the box and stray shots may feel like it was a random hit because of this

This is honestly the best game I've bought all weekend.. Music, characters, gameplay, everything is enjoyable. The only complaint I can even think of is that the little noise after each dialogue session gets a bit annoying after awhile.
