They either play on big 720p/1080p tvs at home or they play on their/their parents phones. Took my little brother to school once. Saw one kid with a 3DS. He was by himself, off to the side of the main entrance. Not twenty feet away was a group of five girls on their phones, comparing cats they got in Neko Atsume (could tell because one of them was all "GUIZE I GOT SAINT PURRTRICK!"). Ealked past a pair of 6th graders talking about CoD. My little brother (he's 14) exclusively plays CS:GO (he's pretty good at it, too) and watches let's plays and captured CS:GO matches on YouTube.

College age people and bonafide Nintendo fanboys make up the majority. You wouldn't fucking believe how many 3DS's reside on college campuses. Put of all the people I personally know there are about 7 or 8 20-somethings with a 3DS. All of them at college or are college grads. Compared to ONE child with a 3DS. And all of them only have it for Mario and Pokemon. Meanwhile at the last family reunion I went to there were about five kids on tablets playing Angry Birds or Clash of Clans.
