worth?
it's 2GB and EVGA brand
>2GB
no
Go with 4GB minimum
Also single fan designs tend to suck balls in terms of cooling
>>336036786
no. it's 770 it's garbage now
No.
Just get a 280x/380x, they stomp the 680 into the ground and is roughly the same price.

>680
INSTANTLY DROPPED
>>336037245

>>336036786
No. You can get a 980 for that much money.
If you're only planning on using a single 1080p monitor then there's no reason not to.

Dumb animeposter
>>336037426
No you can't. They're 500
>>336037547
On what planet? I paid $160 for my 980.
The 980ti might be that much though.
>>336037673
You can't fool me Goofy.
>>336036786
pay $100 more for a 970 for over twice the performance
>>336036786
I bought a 660 for about $150.
Three years ago.
Come on, OP.
>>336038162
660 is a piece of shit compared to 680 though.
>>336036786
Go for AMD instead.
Unless you like taking fat cocks up your ass.

where do you think we are
i seriously hope you don't browse this place unless you're AT LEAST bi. go to reddit if you wanna be a dumb little normie.
>>336038459
But you won't get into Heaven if you're gay, Anonymous.
>4 year old gpu
The 680/770 (same card with different ram speed) is a piece of shit - it has aged like milk. Consider that its competition is the 7970ghz/280x.
>>336038882
>piece of shit - it has aged like milk
Half-true. A lot of its performance woes are because nvidia intentionally gimps it with their new drivers.
>>336036786
I just got a used 760 for 100 bucks famalam.
>>336039003
You retards keep saying this, and literally never post a shred of proof.
>>336036786
The gtx680 is pretty old... for the price, you might as well get a radeon 380.
>>336039358
The proof is right there in that benchmark. You really think the 960 has some secret sauce that has it performing better than a 770 through sheer strength of hardware? There is absolutely no hardware reason for why the 770 isn't matching the 280x there.
>>336036786
>680
For that much you could have a 960 or 950. Both of those have 4gb of memory, and while you can deal with framerate lag by lowering video settings, not having enough VRAM will render a game unable to launch at all. (Why consider the 950 when a 960 is only $10 more? there's a 150wt or so psu requirement difference between the two. If you're running a stock psu you might want to go with the 950)
>>336040081
So find the last stable driver and don't update?
>>336039003
>nvidia intentionally gimps it with their new drivers
I love how retards on the internet enjoy spewing and spreading this dank maymay lie everywhere.
>>336036786
Would be a good card if Nvidia didn't screw Kepler
>>336036786
Alreadly gimped by drivers.
>>336040361
It's not that the new drivers make the old cards perform worse; it's that the new drivers only optimize the newer cards, so the old ones perform as bad as they would with the old drivers. Subtle difference.
>>336038459
i'm heterosexual and my muscles are huge, faggot.

That's called intentional gimping my friend.
There is the reason the Titan is slower than the 970 now.

Should linus be allowing this? Hes a known nvidia shill.
PLEASE LINUS SHUT IT DOWN.
>>336045497
>There is the reason the Titan is slower than the 970 now.
Maxwell as an architecture is essentially kepler: turbo edition. In many areas maxwell absolutely slaughters kepler (much like how hawaii murders tahiti in some areas) and no amount of software is going to change this fact.
Maxwell is basically untouchable on the geomtry front so anything that leverages pixel pushing is going to see maxwell pull far ahead of kepler.
>>336045921
Nah, thats just the upper limit of the chart, It is still spiking to over 200w. That alone isn't an issue per se - the issue is it is doing it over pcie which is only rated for 75w.
Compare with pic related - probably the thirstiest gpu ever created and it barely touches pcie for power draw just because el cheapo boards would explode at suddenly drawing 200w through them. That said iirc it does run out of spec on the 8pin connectors because of this.
>>336046186
You know that would make sense if AMD cards were effected as well.
Yet they are not. even in gimpworks titles. AMD cards perform miles ahead of the older 600/700 series cards. Despite them being rereleases.
That alone should tell you of forced gimping.
>680/770
>1536 cores
>960
>1024 cores
>960 conaistently beats 770
Nvidia truly is the master of gimping
>>336046903
Memory and clock speed matters too anon.
Also gimmicks.
>>336046554
This doesn't tell you the whole picture. AMD is still tweaking drivers for their GCN chips and in recent games there has been a shift towards raw compute - an area in which AMD aboslutely massacres Nvidia (to wit: on paper a 290x is roughly on par with a 980ti for compute).
My theory is Nvidia is only ensuring that kepler (and fermi) are compatible with new titles and not actively tuning the drivers for them. Looking forward this is what is going to kill the 970 - without active driver tunring the hilarity of its memory setup (something the 660ti has as well) will murder its performance in memory intesive situations.
Equally AMD has a few guys actively tuning their driver for fiji so I expect fiji to die a painful death in the next 18 months or so (though hawaii and tahiti will last forever).
>>336046903
Its all about effeciancy. Both pascal and polaris will be big on it as thats the way the tech industry is heading - do more with less. The simplest reason for this is it brings power draw down which a huge thing for mobile and HPC - both areas where the mega money is. Somewhat secondary to that is wafer waste. This is why GP100 is selling for a gorillion dollars, the yields must be horrific on a die that huge.
