Yeah, people were focusing on the wrong thing - the models weren't great, but they weren't the main problem. So now the models are acceptable, but the animations are still mostly garbage. Clark's backbreaker attack looks awful. Maybe camera angles would have helped it?
I think it's because they're just copying the frames from 13 for the most part, without even bothering to animate proper wind-up, follow through, or in-between poses. Also, jumps in particular look weird when there's no sounds or FX associated with them.

Athena is fast as fuck and A Phoenix arrow recovers insanely fast. She flys back really high and far after a blocked f+B and can phoenix arrow during it so it looks much harder to try and punish compared to before

Havent seen anyone mention it hut K' has 2 know followups to Eins trigger, a forward thrust that looks like a replacement for his new followup from 2K2UM, and a downward swipe thats either a Knockdown or overhead.
Clark is basically old 98 clark except mount tackle is like the NESTS rendition with a choice of follow ups, and he has the command dash from XIII. No napalm stretch unfortunately but at least he still has his normal air throw.
Also damage of normals and specials look about the same as they did in XIII so expect rounds to last long unless someone gets hit with something big.
Game looks to be more ground based than XIII because of how telegraphed and floaty hops and jumps look due to the animations.
Reminder that the build we saw is technically an old build and not just a demo of the final product. The director has noted people's comments about floaty jumps and says they're fixing it (despite it being just a few extra frames) but just keep in mind, for whatever reason, we're seeing previous builds of this game.

Shingo is already pretty damn strong if he can hold off Riot Iori on his own and only have a broken arm coming out of it. Hes held back by using a style he can never use fully. Shingo would probablt be pretty top tier if he at least learned Ki.

K' Team 2000 will always be my favorite. Benimaru and Shingo were okay but Vanessa and Ramon were just, I can't explain it. I was severely dissapointed with the hero team for '01. Whip deserves her place with the Ikari Warriors and Lin on the whole was just so boring to me.
