Skyrim in particular though since there's even less variety than Oblivion and before with the pruning of Mysticism
One more thing
The new Gauntlet has some really fun magic, only if you play as the wizard though. Being able to switch between a bunch of spells on the fly and having individual cooldowns for each spell made the game a blast. Rest of the classes kinda sucked by comparison.

Not Skyrim, but Morrowind magic was good. Spellmaking was still around, you had cool spells like levitation or teleportation, illusion spells were actually usefull outside of combat, etc. Magic balance was shit though, as it could have been insanely overpowered if used right.

Latest Gauntlet is pretty fun with Wizard's spells.
Basically you have your 3 elements (fire, electric, ice) on three buttons and you select a spell using any two button presses for 9 different spells each with their own separate cooldown and strategies to use.
Practically a meme to say it now, but Dragon's Dogma magic was satisfying.

Daggerfall and Morrowind had great magic systems; you could do anything with magic, from teleporting great distances, to moving at the speed of sanic and flying.
The Infinity Engine games (Baldur's Gate 2, in particular) are pretty good too, because mages are amazing in 2e D&D, as they are designed to make magic feel more meaningful. So, mages start as total shitters, and become godlike at later levels. You can even stop time and go mudamuda to obliterate your opponents.
The Ultima games actually had magic systems where you had to mix together reagents and remember magic encantations. A bit autistic, but I think it's really awesome.
