Ok anons, I know it's fun to laugh about Mighty No. 9 or that Falco guy who has been working on a shitty Dreamcast RPG for more than 10 years, but it sucks when a good (or promising) game didn't succeeded in its crowd-funding campaign.

So let's talk about these games. This one in particular didn't make it, even with a great idea and a fun demo. Luckily the game development continued but it sucks that there were shit like Godus who made it. Fuck marketing.

>indie game that features permadeath and procedural generation
What's wrong with that?
>>
>>336021872
Another "indie action platformer" with "permanent death" "procedural generated levels" and "co-op"

No wonder it fucking failed kek.

There used to be a website showcasing failed kickstarters, something named kickbooted or simillar, can't remember. Anyways that website got taken down for defamation by making fun of the projects that never started.
>>
>>336022650
The market is flooded with that shit
>>
>>336022650
It has been done to death by now. Kickstarter is where innovation dies. Passion and vanity projects lead to creative stagnation.

Useless. Make a console kickstarter then.

Thanks for the suggestion, anon, it looks great.

How is Momodora 3?

>he doesn't have irl friends
it sucks to be you. Btw that game has online multiplayer too.

>early access
>14.99

No, just no.
>>
>>336026657
Still better games than AAA shit.
>>
>>336027485
The game should've been 9.99 in early access and thousands more would've bought it. Then at release they should've upped the price to 14.99.
>>
>Rising the price once the Early Access ends
Is that a thing?
>>
>>336027673

Didn't Nuclear Throne do that?
>>
>>336027790
Of course.
>>
>>336027790
It's more common to do the opposite because people are retarded and will actually pay money to be a beta tester these days.

This. Lots of gullible idiots want to pay extra to be part of the BETA COMMUNITY and pretend they were incredibly relevant for a game's development.
>>
>>336029217
Name how many good fighting games came out of crowfunding.

None, only two have used it for more content and actually delivered. Making fighting games is hard and without a pedigree most won't trust you. Plus the game is unlikely to have any scene

Skullgirls counts?

>>336029982
I love the people that make extremely long posts about how to fix the game like the developer is going to read every single one of them and implement all their fixes.

>>336022262

Vagante is actually pretty fun.

It was adding 4 dlc characters

Someone post the Falco Fiasco, I need a good laugh

>>336030214
The genre is also kinda oversaturated and aside from big names many of the games have really, really small communities. A lot of people won't put down money for a game that has the usual kickstarter chance of being shit, alternatives already on the market, and the near certainty that in four months the entire community will just be you a chinese dude and some really angry guy in chile who won't turn his mic off ever.
