Literally halts the entire project to finish a demo so the community knows what they're funding. As if e1m8b or e1m4b weren't enough of a clue

Blackroom is probably the most levelheaded crowd funded project out there. It's basically what every shit eating Romero slamming dickhead here wanted. There will be no reason to complain or not to fund once the demo is ready.
>>
>>336004350
if it was the most levelheaded they would have had a demo before

this is damage control, because everyone is skeptical without a demo, they realized they wont make it wihtout a demo
>>
Why do people not want this? It's the golden era of 90s PC gaming once again.

You've got Doom, you've got a new UT and soon you'll have the Quake to new Doom.

I think he lost his charm

Pick one and only one

This
>>336004473
Look even us rose-tinted 90's lovers know this is gonna suck.
>>
>almost 200k in the first few days
>"it won't make it without a demo!!"
Drink bleach you retards.
>>
>>336004661
>implying it wouldn't slow down
>>
They got blown the fuck out. Thought they'd get 700k easy, were already talking about stretch goals, didn't even manage that.
Maybe they'll have a chance with a gameplay demo. But it's gonna be even more embarrassing if it fails there too.
>>
>>336004661
It made 90k the first day and 30k the next three.

Without struggling and pushing it ala Indivisible they were going to eat shit, this was a good move.

There's been too many high-profile Kickstarter failures. Legacy means little anymore.
>>
>>336004661
Even if it managed to get it, they wouldn't be happy with just 700k. The 700k was obviously just them lowballing for an easy funding (or so they thought)
>>
>>336004661

Kickstarters die down quick. They get the most funding at the beginning and near the end. They really didn't make that much over the first few days.

If he wanted easy mode he should have put this shit on kickstarter in the early days when people would fund literally anything.
>>
>>336004580
>Brings Randy Pitchford on board
Well they'll get the money they need. But who will Randy steal from this time?
>>
A Kickstarter project doesn't have at least some kind of working prototype is not level-headed.

I'm surprised he did that again after the oldschool RPG.
>>
>>336005325
Obviously, he joined to fund the next Borderlands semi-sequel.
>>
>Yet another video game "legend" that has been doing nothing in the past decade, jumping into the kickscam vagon
>Nothing to show, just concepts and ideas.

2late John people already fell for that like 3 year ago
>>
>>336004350
>As if e1m8b or e1m4b weren't enough of a clue
So Blackroom is actually just a new doom wad and all the stuff he said in the trailer is a lie? Or do you think showing something completely unrelated to the project is somehow acceptable?
>>
>>336004580
Randy Pitchford is part of the PR campaign. He won't be doing anything with the game.
>>
>>336005278
I wonder why people stopped?
>>
I'm looking forward to it. The ideas he's presented are very interesting and the fact that big publishers won't touch it is a good sign if you ask me, the only thing big publishers back these days is CoD clones.
>>
>>336005615
Ouya, basically.
>>
>>336005012
The stretch goals were basically the social media and art achievements. The results just weren't announced yet.
>>
>>336004580
>Randy Pitchford
Just a reminder that Randy Pitchford is THAT KID.

>>
>>336004473
The idea of the game is complete shit
>>
>>336005386
Romero probably only did RPGs in the 80s. And people don't really care about what he did in the 80s. Kickstarter works by pushing your most notable aspects and for Romero it's basically all about 90s FPS games.
>>
>>336005386
what RPG?
>>
>>336005596
>Randy Pitchford is literally only there to do what he's the absolute worst at

Well hooray for that.
>>
>>336004350
Is that demo going to be playable for anyone or just a video?
>>
>>336006001
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lootdrop/an-old-school-rpg-by-brenda-brathwaite-and-tom-hal

>Shaker: An Old School RPG is a first-person perspective, fantasy/sci-fi game set in a Bridge world between the future and the very distant medieval past

Of course no gameplay again.
>>
>>336006128
Not specified. But I think it might only be a gameplay video. Still better than nothing.
>>
>>336006128
Of course it'll just be a video. Maybe a playable demo to backers who put down X amount.

He rented out the id tech to other companies back in the early-mid 90's and bought in easy money to the company. I'd say he has some savvy he just shouldn't be at the helm.
He's much older now maybe he's more sensible.
>>
>>336007138
How?
>>
>>336007138
Your money isn't taken from your account until after the kickstarter successfully passes. Before then it's just a number on paper.
>>
>>336006521
Don't be naive.

No integrity
>>
I didn't back it because no demo. I trust that the duo are capable of making a good game, but I still need to see something other than concept art.
>>
>>336007527
He didn't put that ad together to be fair.
>>
>>336004473
No, what we're having now is the video games equivalent of half assed reboots of classic old movies.
Thank you Coon man.
>>
>>336006725
Well he is part of the dev team. Just not the lead designer.
