My parents divorced when I was 9. I dropped out of college after HS and started working labor and construction stuff. In the end dad let me build a place of my own next to him and mom and I pay it off like a mini mortgage. I'm 30 now and own what amounts to a townhouse on my parents land, so I live next door to them. I can travel, spend money how I like or invest money into their mortgage and they will pay me interest.
