>Here's your pre order sir
>And might I suggest you purchase the official strategy guide for only $24.99?
>And how about pre ordering the next Call of Duty?
>And would you like to sign up for our Edge Awards card for a chance to win free games?
>And would you like to donate today to charity?
>And would you like to purchase the seasons pass for only $49.99?
>And don't forget the mandatory 10% tip whenever your purchase exceeds $30
>And don't forget the mandatory 10% tip whenever your purchase exceeds $30
Does this actually happen?

No retard

The fact gamestop still has employees astounds me. The even more sad part is that this tactic of suggesting 5 minutes worth of shit to the customer actually works enough to warrant doing it.
I haven't been to an EB Games in a few years but whenever I did it was
>I'd like to preorder X
>Sure, how much are you putting down
>$X
>Okay
>Bye
OR
>Hi, I'm picking up X
>Okay
>Bye
>>336000449
if you dont tip they scratch your discs
>>336000620
So you never actually picked up your games?
>>336000620
It depends on their numbers. I worked at gamestop for a few months and your job depends on how many preorders/subscriptions you get. If their numbers are high they probably won't bother you.

some people go to stores to buy things so suggestive selling works on them.

>And might I suggest you purchase the official strategy guide for only $24.99?
Yes. I usually purchase strategy guides for hard games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne and study them on the drive home from the store so I know what to expect
>And how about pre ordering the next Call of Duty?
Yes. Say what you will. I'm a seasonal Call of Duty player
>And would you like to sign up for our Edge Awards card for a chance to win free games?
I'm already signed up for edge rewards
>And would you like to donate today to charity?
Not today thanks
>And would you like to purchase the seasons pass for only $49.99?
I always purchase the season pass so I have the complete game
>And don't forget the mandatory 10% tip whenever your purchase exceeds $30
Uhhh no thank you
>>336000674
Did you really need me to insert
>*le employee hands me muh game*
?
>>336000729
I never got hassled in the very small town I lived on or when I lived in Vancouver.
I don't buy anything from them anymore but when I did I never actually had one of those overly pushy salespeople.
>>336000851
It could be a combination of their numbers being high and the amount you were buying.
If you're just buying one game I wouldn't try to sell you a preorder or sub because you probably wouldn't want to pile $15 on top of a 20-60 dollar purchase.
If you're buying a console it's a lot easier to sell a preorder or sub since the customer's assumption is they'll be investing in this new purchase.
Give me one good reason to buy a strategy guide in this day and age when you can get the same or more information for free on the internet. The only thing i can think of is having something physical of a game is cool but that's it.
>>336001034
I certainly suppose so.
>>336000845
Good bait.
>>336001102
man I want a giga pudding right now
>>336000620
Don't see it much in EB games Australia but when it does happen it's pretty annoying
>buy a weeb game
>would you like to pre-order the newest CoD?
>>336000369
> insert random chatter before he can get a word in.
Thank you have a nice day.
Real talk: All the GameStops in my area are run independently. Trade-Ins prices are whatever they feel like (extremely low) and they do not offer online prices
Feels bad man.

So they give you a pre-owned copy?
