I'm skeptical about this. Had the same mindset with MGSV/MGO and that lasted a good month.
I can imagine a lot of the side content being repetitive "kill 10 monsters on each side of the map" type stuff. And the minigames like fishing and the arcade seem like they'd get boring fast.

Yeah i dont really know what to expect it either, all i know is it will be a way bigger game than p5 both in scope, size, and content, even if some or most of it is similar. I dont really play open world games and theres been a serious drought of good console jrpgs since the ps2s death.
Im just expecting the best since i spent, somehow, 30 hours on the platinum demo. Dont ask because even i dont know. But just playing with the weather, seeing the awesome lighting and day time effects, and warping around for hours was fun enough. The same basic gameplay and graphics engine, but with more quests and a full story epic and i predict the game will keep me busy. Im a sucker for anything yoshihisa hashimoto does. Used to work for Sonic Team at sega in the early 2000s and was the main designer and programmer behind the chao garden. Played the fuck out of that. Main programmer on sonic advance 1 and 2. Sonic advance 2 is my favorite 2D sonic game. Made the hedgehog engine and directed Sonic Unleashed, my favorite 3D Sonic game that i still go back to, to this day and the lighting still impresses me.
So yeah im pretty confident with squares budget and design plus hashimotos technical genius, ffxv will have some good mileage for me.
