Fuck man, this takes me back. I remade this map for Half Life 1 and CS1.6. I put the whole game on a disc with my map and brought it to school. Uploaded it to a few different computers then LAN'd it in my original computer class back in 9th grade.
Then I moved on and remade Q3DM17 "The Longest Yard" for Unreal Tournament 2003.
Miss it. Valve Hammer, Unreal Editor, etc. Good times.

Been out of the mapping game for a long long time. Modern engines are extremely complex, around the time of Source engine things started getting a bit out of hand. You really had to make it into a career to produce something worthwhile. Ever wonder why all these engine SDKs tend to lead nowhere? Modern engines require an entire studio to thoroughly take advantage of. One slav sitting in his bedroom might make a pretty looking tech demo, but that's it.
Also, imagination. I was never good at coming up with my own designs. I mean look at my post, I specifically say I remade two maps from different games and these were the pinnacle of my mapping skills. I'm no map designer.
