Look at Pix's Spaceship.Pix's Spaceship is straight up alien. It does NOT originate from that planet, and we know now that it was probably a HWC creation.
However, that Spaceship on Rock Star is EXTREMELY similar to something we've seen elsewhere.
Dreamland 3, Sand Canyon, Level 6.
The "Pyramid" is very obviously NOT an actual Pyramid, and certainly doesn't originate from Pop Star either.
In fact, the inner workings of the level are pretty damn similar to the Spaceship on Rock Star, if a little more primitive.
It's likely this one was sent to Dreamland long ago to scout it out. Whether it malfunctioned and didn't send any info back, or it landed in the desert and didn't see any organic life worth harvesting is a different matter, or if it just took HMC this long to get to Pop Star is a different matter.

A few quick things though.
Dark Matter never turns into Zero, Zero's always been around. Zero's a separate entity entirely.
Japanese version of Robobot states that Dark Matter was cloned from a dark substance that was in HaltmanN's possession as early as the invasion, so they have an actual piece of Dark Matter, not just it's DNA. No idea when they got it or WHY ON EARTH THEY DECIDED TO KEEP A FUCKING PIECE OF IT JESUS HALTMANN
Nova wasn't rebuilt, Star Dream is a completely separate Clockwork Star.

Just beat the campaign. Oh my god. That was so amazing. The final boss was 10/10. Challenging, tense, and fun as hell. This game shattered my expectations. I got platinum on all the other gamemodes already, and got all the Code Cubes, so now I just have to go through Meta Knightmare and Arenaand whatever gets unlocked after that

According to the DL2 Japanese Manual, Dark Matter only suffered from loneliness due to the fact no one wanted to be its friend. There's no mention about it only being able to feel negative emotions.
Zero, on the other hand, according to an old Japanese artbook, is incapable of feeling positive emotions, hence his weakness to the weapons you mentioned.
There's speculation that Dark Matter was only possessing people because he thought that was friendship, and that Zero attempted possession of everything because he wanted everyone to feel as lonely as he did (so that they would know what he felt), but I've yet to find a source on these.

It a shame it couldn't simply be remade to have the content added as it wouldn't work with every shard requiring kirby. Personally I think with so many new abilities a return to the power mixing is definitely a concept that could be revisted and still be fresh. Just came up with this:
This game could involve ability fusion, but between elemental abilities (fire, ice, spark, poison, water, the like) and weaponry abilities (sword, hammer, archer, cutter, pretty much every ability in Kirby Fighters). I think it could work akin to the materia system in FF7, with new techniques available for each fusion the more leveled up each individual ability is.
