Setting up servers are easy as fuck. It is maintaining them all over the country that is expensive. I have a 2 websites with the sever being an old xp laptop. Problem is in a UDP connected game where even the smallest lag would be a problem, they have to pay overseas for servers. They have to pay people to maintain those servers overseas. They are not exactly cheap.
